Default Question about Pannonia and Aquincum

    Hi guys!

I 'm playing campaign with the Romani, and I observed by a spy, that the town of Aquincum (Ak-Ink in game) belongs to Eravacouw province, not to Pannonia. Has it historical or practical causes ? Formerly i 've belief, that the romans never owned regions in Eastern Europe beyond the Danube river , except Dacia. But the Aquincum was taken by them. How 's it exactly ?

i guess the mapmaker must have made it like that i think its a shame cuz i always wanna take that town since its so close to vindobona (the temptation of the next alexander...) but if you did you'd probably conquer the plains of what is now hungary and romans never got there so i refrain from it for its unrealistic and looks bad on the minimap (such an unhistorical border i then get )

    its a shame though

The question has come up before in this thread at the Org, but I don't think a full answer was given. However, I can offer a few partial explanations. One is that although the Romans may have thought of the Danube as a border, the people who lived there probably didn't share that view. Second is that the Romans (of the early Empire at least) didn't feel limited by their own borders: they would be quite active, both politically and military, in the area beyond it.
