Default Satan escorts a man to a Mosque

[Before jumping to shallow conclusions, read the whole thing, you'll be pleasantly surprised and I guarantee you will enjoy it. I don't know if the story is real or a tale, but I thoroughly enjoyed the message.]

A man woke up early in order to pray the Fajr prayer in the masjid. He got dressed, made his ablution and was on his way to the masjid.

On his way to the masjid, the man fell and his clothes got dirty. He got up, brushed himself off, and headed home. At home, he changed his clothes, made his ablution, and was again, on his way to the masjid.

Second time, on his way to the masjid, he fell again and at the same spot! He, again, got up, brushed himself off and headed home. At home he, once again, changed his clothes, made his ablution and was on his way to the masjid.

On his way third time to the masjid, he met a man holding a lamp. He asked the man of his identity and the man replied "I saw you fall twice on your way to the masjid, so I brought a lamp so I can light your way."

The first man thanked him profusely and the two where on their way to the masjid. Once at the masjid, the first man asked the man with the lamp to come in and pray Fajr with him. The second man refused. The first man asked him a couple more times and, again, the answer was the same.

The first man asked him why he did not wish to come in and pray. The man replied "I am Satan." The man was shocked at this reply.

Satan went on to explain, "I saw you on your way to the masjid and it was I who made you fall. When you went home, cleaned yourself and went back on your way to the masjid, Allah forgave all of your sins. I made you fall a second time, and even that did not encourage you to stay home, but rather, you went back on your way to the masjid. Because of that, Allah forgave all the sins of the people of your household. I was afraid if I made you fall one more time, then Allah will forgive the sins of the people of your village, so I made sure that you reached the masjid safely."

The Old Testament shows Satan as a tool of God, and Islam takes a lot of the OT at face value, unlike Christianity, right? So, that didn't make a lick o' sense.

this reminds me of a hadith in wich the prophet(pbuh) said:
"Satan came in front of me and tried to interrupt my prayer, but Allah gave me an upper hand on him and I choked him.No doubt, I thought of tying him to one of the pillars of the mosque till you get up in the morning and see him. Then I remembered the statement of Prophet Solomon, 'My Lord ! Bestow on me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me.' Then Allah made him (Satan) return with his head down (humiliated)."

Satan dont exist and any of those things. As god is all perfect and unreschable, and undescrible... and most of most; anyway. God cant have an enemy or an opposite being. If it does (lol) your satan must be a god too. Or there is no god.

By the way the satan is a christian made character. You know that the name Lucifer was used to named Jesus. Lucifer was a roman god they just applicated to jesus as a god of light, to he price of light, to the son of god. The word satan is from an hebraic way to simply describe a bad person, they took the word from one of the babylonians god they hate.

That fable of will let humanity in a primitive way. We can can still see it today barbarian humans are with each other when fight for well maded religion for a god they'll never meet, heard or understand.

If you wanna believe in god good for you but believe in it the right way, because it is certainly not the god of those self proclaim holy books. By respect for believers, G-d must be far far more infinitly greater then whatever you have read or heard about it. (I say ''it'' because it cant be reduce a mere male or female to be)
I believe that to meet the challenges of our times, human beings will have to develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. Each of us must learn to work not just for oneself, one's own family or nation, but for the benefit of all humankind. Universal responsibility is the key to human survival. It is the best foundation for world peace.

Satan makes no sense in this. Why does he trip the man in the first place? And why does he do this a second time? And after that, why does he bother to guide him to the masjid? Is he secretly an angel in disguise, testing the man?

The main problem with this is the nature of forgiveness: because one man trips twice, but continues, his entire family is forgiven of their sins? Does that mean if a kill one person, and then kill another, my entire family is sentenced to hell?

It just doesn't fit in with the God we all know and love; you know, who had Lot as a faithful worshipper. You know, the same guy that was going to surrender his virgin daughters to the people of Sodom? If he had virgin sons, and virgin grandchildren, and in turn offered them up, would God forgive the people of Sodom?

This is the same God that destroyed Job's life to prove a point to Satan. And you wonder why the number of atheists and agnostics is rising.

Because according to Islam, Satan will always try to turn people away from God. That's why he did what he did and for escorting the guide to the masjid is because the reason stated.

No. Your sin is your own, but your good deeds are sometimes shared by all. That's why the 'original sin' concept are not accepted in Islam.

Not 'we' I would say.. It doesn't fit with you coming from Christian background.

The is no other gods but God, so yes. Job's life didn't destroy. In fact he did come out stronger.

Good for satan. It's nice to see him learning that his evil actions have unforseen consequences and will make him a wiser, less pantomime villainesque Prince of Darkness. Beats sitting around inspiring Rock musicians' lyrics.
'When people stop believing in God, they don’t believe in nothing — they believe in anything. '

-Emile Cammaerts' book The Laughing Prophets (1937)

Under the patronage of Nihil. So there.

    This was kind of funny,

I've heard that somewhere long time ago (during usrah). Anyway, most of the stories I believe are meant to be moral message rather than actual report of events.

Satan beat this guy but couldn't trick Jesus?
Is this before or after the temptations? 'Cause then we can work out whether he's had time to work on his technique or not
