oh i have been playing mods for years,i just never found one that suit me perfectly,XC and SPQR are the one who came closer

but i dont like how XC force you to spend like 50 turns or so to completely convert a settlement to your faction(it might be realistic but i hate it <.<) and i dont like how every unit is too expensive
but other than that great mod

SPQR is awesome and ALMOST the perfect mod for me,but forcing me to play like 4/6+ battles per turn when each battle takes like 1 hour is too much for me,and the garrison script is exaggerated along with the super weak roman navy and the fact it is not mod foldered spoils it for me

i'd preferably like to play a mod that isnt too complicated but almost every mod is,which is why i'm trying to make a compilation of mini mods and some adjustments to the vanilla

i want to put a 4tpy,install the mundus magnum( or something like that),unify rome into 1 faction plus the senate, put a 0 turn recruitment and increase the def/morale of every unit in the game but it's hard because some mods overwrite each other and i dont know how to make them compatible

But that is all. Don't know why, but the creator of "Fall of Rome" has deleted his mod.
And there are no other mods dealing with this timeframe. Which is a shame btw cause the era itself is quite interesting.

There is though one mod still in development, but far from being finished, starting in 527 AD dealing with Justinian's reconquest of the west:
    Ages of Darkness II
Ah, that reminds me, there's East of Rome as well. I don't remember if it's for RTW or Med2 though.

Icon5 Change difficulty and unit size mid-campaign?

Hello peoples, I recently came across a thread, where they were talking about a mod or something that allowed you to change your campaign difftculty and unit size when you loaded your saves, mid campaign. I looked all over I can't seem to find it. Anybody have any ideas where that was or a link, perhaps? Thanks in advance.

Well I found a download for Fall of Rome, and its a pretty awesome mod. I haven't really played it much yet so I have yet to decide exactly how it stacks up against IBFD.

That does sound useful. If you end up finding it, let me know as well.

A dubious site. But the link is valid lol. I would post it, but if the mod creator wanted the mod ended i'm not sure how the moderators would react- I doubt he would have wanted me downloading it either lol. Also the site I got the link from was designated potentially high risk if you click on the wrong thing by my security system.

Any idea why he ended the mod btw?

I have no idea. It was posted that the Mod leader wanted the mod to be removed with the whole subforum. But with no mention about his reasons. Which is sad for me cause I was interested in this mod. But as I wanted to explore IB first I have waited some months only to find all about it deleted.

What version have you downloaded btw? The latest one?
edit: well without a forum you will for sure not know that obviously ...

Hay I'm looking for mod Recommendations. I have played Amazon total war and Extended cultures, I love Amazon total war but as soon as you get the advanced tech units you can't lose even if you want to . In Extended cultures the game play is completely changed buildings take as much as 20 turns and (as Roman) you start off bankrupt with two full stacks of Greeks ready to crush you making playing as Rome impossible .

So I'm looking for a mod that adds more regions, makes Rome one faction, adds more stuff to build without increasing build times greatly and doesn't require me to learn how to play Total war all over again. So dose anyone know if such a perfect mod is out there somewhere .

PS. I tried looking in the "Rome: Total War Hosted Modifications" section but none of the mods there have a list saying what they change anywhere I can find without needing to dig throe 100 dead download links. Guess I'm to used to sites like Oblivion nexus where all the mods have a description right there so you can find it.

DTW sounds pretty appropriate. It's quite basic, in a certain sense, and the main focus I'd say are the battles there. If you love hellenistic factions, it's definitively your mod. Other mods that come to mind are the B.C series, Lusted's T.E., RTR PE and DM.

Mostly what the mods I've mentioned do are add a lot of units and revamp the combat system, but leave the campaign mechanics somewhat similar to how the vanilla campaign works, without making it too much more complicated. I hope that was kind of what you meant.

XGM doesn't have any form of senate AFAIK.
That said, both mods offer a pretty good experience in pretty different ways.
XGM is closer to vanilla playstyle while XC is geared towards a slower gameplay with less battles and a much stronger relation between FM and economy.

Basically, if you want many large battles XGM is the better choice, while XC shines for role-playing and empire building keeping the player on the edge until the end.

Actually this is only half true for one of the factions, the other three Amazon factions or neo-Amazon factions aren't so easy.

Peloponesan... no, but there's the Greek Wars, which, with a little bit of imagination, can fulfill your wishes
