Guys, I'm a Relatively new Total war player(By your standards I suppose) and have begun playing from Medieval TW 2 up to the most recent Shogun 2 total war

I wanted to return to the older games and RTW was suggested to me.

Any suggestions on what mod to use to beefup campaign gameplay? or what a new player should get?

play the vanilla game first to see how it goes ... then if you want a major improvement you should definitely try out RS2/EB/RTR etc. ; if you like the vanilla feeling XGM and XC are your mods

Sorry for the stupid question, but do any of the major mods like RS2 and EB have sinuhet's formations?
Or would I need to install it seperately? or are they just plain incompatible?

Again, sorry for the noob question @_@

AFAIK, they have a modified version of Darthmods or Sinhuet's formations, made to fit their own unit modifications. I can't think of any major mod that doesn't modify the vanilla formations.

Hey all, I'm a long-time RTW player looking to finally getting into mods. Here's a description of what I'm looking for:

    -More factions. I think that's a given.
-A way to control population and an easier way to eliminate plague.
-It has to be compatible with the Steam version.
-A larger game map would be nice as well with more territories.
-More units of course and unit balance would be nice.
-If possible, better AI. Or at least something that resembles better AI like better unit formations.
-Something that isn't too graphics intensive. I can't handle anything that's, for example, as graphically enhanced as Empire Total War or Shogun 2.

That's all I want really. I don't care about the setting. A similar setting to RTW would be nice, but I could settle for something fantastical like a LOTR RTW. I realize that not all those conditions may not be a ble to be met, but something as close to it as possible would be nice.

    1) afraid not possible, hardcoded.
    2) many mods do that, XGM, XC and RS2 for starters
    3) mods compatible with steam for sure are XGM, XC and DTW
    4) most "big mods" offer bigger maps
    5) For battle AI any mod using Darth or Sinhuet formations, for campaign one it's trickier
    6) XGM and XC retain the vanilla style visuals not straining lower end PCs.

Basically with your requirements if you're looking for a mod for starters XGM is usually a good way to start, with an extremely friendly user community and retaining most of the vanilla feeling, although much more challenging, it has options to be played with RTW, BI or Alex, all with slightly different experiences.

If you're looking for "clever" campaign AI and a challenge with rich role-play content XC (extended cultures) is more apt, slightly less stacks around and more aimed towards realism.
It's not as simple as XGM to master (neither mod is an easy challenge though) but things like having a good leader suddenly become extremely important and it uses all exe files but especially BI to the extreme.

Hi everyone I am looking for a Mod, that allows you to play a campaign to the end in which you must take over the entire map and eliminate all other factions to win. Is there such a mod out there?

Yes it is. Ask in the workshop how to do or if you ask someone do it. If you ask nicely enough they might do it for you

That's the wrong expression; "have not done that yet" would be better

There are lots of things on my list. I'm not planning it as much as "it's a possibility for a next project"
