hey folks!
i asked me which mod i should install...
i like the strategic and economic part of RTW, not so much the battles.
So i`m looking for a mod including few but decisive battles and the focus at the campaign map.
Any ideas?

I'd go Roma Surrectum. It's faction selection is very diverse and the Romans are harder than most other mods.
If you like the Eastern factions go RTR. The bigger map makes it a lot easier early on, but a lot more challenging later.
Don't go EB unless your computer is high-powered.

anbody who knows how to install this one, I donwloaded and I can not figure out where to put the files, its about the all faction mod in babarian invasion
Try RTR on m/h or m/vh. This way you will have not that many battles, but the ones you will have will be quite challanging. Or you could try EB, but only if your pc powerful enough. There you have a lot of possibilities to build up your eco, although some of this possibilities are the most expensive buildings ive ever seen in a rtw-mod.
I would not recommand RS (with 0 turn recruitment)or SPQR. There you will have tonnes of battles if you let the enemies build up a bit.
Dont know much about XGM. Seems to be a kind of vanilla rtw with improved greeks.

They are both good. I know thats not a help but I personally am a huge XGM fan. But they are both good mods.
RTR is good too.
You have to install the Mod Switch version found here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=105336
That version does not overwrite anything from vanilla so you can play RTRPE, Vanilla and other mods (provided they don't overwrite vanilla files either).
Just been playin Mtw2 here the last year so havent been playin rtw since vanilla n stuff now i got the rome total war thingy goin on an want to start on a RTW mod btw i have all 3 addons.
my only problem is i cant rly pick a mod they all look so awesome![]()
so any of u Rome total war guys here could point me to the best choice since i suspect some of u have tried em all hehe

Yes, RTR + my own mini mod:
BTW EB has the most numerous contents. A lot more depth and much more complex gaming. I'd suggest it to everyone though I don't play it myself anymore. It's slow and I'm terrified by stories about script-related CTDs...

It all depends on which style of play you like. I like games which are as realistic as possible, with tight budgets and only a few stacks of units per faction at any one time. And so two mods are emerging as good bases to work from.
Despite being a die hard RTR fan, I have to say EB 1.0 is a very immersive and realistic mod. It is however script heavy so unless your PC's upto spec, it can run slow in campaign mode, (unless you turn of shadows).
My second choice is probably Limes AE mod but some of Limes unit models are very heavy on the detail so cause a frps slowdown. I've swopped back in original RTR units to combat this.
Limes has added many original elements and game aspects from BI that have not previously been done.
After his come two mods for RTR Platinum 1.9, Metro&Naval mod by Macedon and Extended realism mod for 1.9 originally by Candelarious. Now being continued by an excellent new mod team.
well i rly like mods where it is maxed out when it comes to strat map an units an sound i also like realism but dont mind huge stack wars my pc specs should´nt be a problem i can run mtw2 with 4 armies in custom battle without seroius lagg hehe anyways the rtr series look good but there seam to be more than 1 version of the mod

RTR has two main versions:
1.RTR Platium. Bug-fixed and RTW-1.5/BI compatible version of RTR 6 Gold.
2.The Iberian Conflict - part of future RTR7. It focus on a mini-campaign, with iberina factions & carthage.
RTR is a bit slower than vanilla RTW due to the realistic grass. You can turn it off during installation (Platium mod-switch). I'm using large unit scale and low AA, the performance is acceptable even with 2-3 full stacks (my card is old fx6200).

I'm merging this thread with the stickied thread regarding Mod Recommendations.

I generally agree with you but the restrictions put on your freedom of action by BB is just too much to be any fun. You are forced to blitz early on to stay solvent and that is not at all my style of play.
TE does look very nice and it plays quite well. I am hooked. But I do miss the Senate as I like the idea of trying to please an outside influence whose plans may or may not be in accord with yours - and the subsequent civil war.
Oh well.
"Après moi le déluge"
So I uninstalled RTW a year ago and never bought BI or Alexander.
And then a couple weeks ago I heard that there are mods that have RTW all tweaked out so that I can have huge battles with more armies than M2TW will allow on my rig. And you know, I'm tired of not getting told my armies are too big so that the reinforcement wont arrive.
And I've been reading Plutarch The Age of Alexander and I'm in the mood you know?
So tell me which mod I need to play. Darth Vader will provide me with tactical challenges I know. I'm prepared to buy BI or Alexander if they're necessary.
RTR? EB?
Tell me.I'm open to your opinions here.
