    Default True or false.

I was reading up a review on Kingdoms before I got it and it mentioned that you could re-name castles and cities in-game, but not provinces.
I haven't come by any way to do it in-game, or is it a false benefit?

Also, what are the possibilities of making the player be able to pick heirs?
I personally don't want to kill off family members just to keep it in the original starting blood-line.

You can rename a settlement by opening the settlement scroll for that settlement and clicking on its name. As for picking heirs, thats not possible as of now.

Ah, alright cheers for the reply.
One more question if you don't mind. Let's say I renamed a city to something else, then I used a "create_unit" cheat (just for a bubble) would I need to type the new city name or the old one? e.g

create_unit London etc (as the original)

    to

create_unit Test etc (as the new)

    Thanks in advance!

Not too sure about that. You can try it out. But most probably the old name. Cause the cheat uses data from the files and when you rename a settlement, the original settlement names does not change. If it doesn't work with original, then type the new one. Won't hurt to try.

Yup, yup. Your predictions were correct. When editing castle / cities names in-game, and IF you decide to cheat you've gotta type the original names of the castle / city.

Thanks for helping altogether, Kelvintky. +rep

You can use both if u want to insert its name into the shell,

example: If you renamed "London" "Tellytubbyland", you could type in either

Alright thanks for confirming that. Although i don't use cheats...it won't hurt to have new knowledge.

Strange.. Didn't seem to work with me. I used spaces when re-naming and used the _ when using the medieval shell, and got a 'err. can't find settlement or character' (or something similiar) message.
I did test with the add_unit cheat - but I'm not fussed, i'm not much of a cheat user either.

Try a "-" instead of "_" in places you have a space.

It's an awesome feature I didn't know existed untill late last year.

Renamed one of my castles to Wallace Castle (in Britannia) and let William die there of old age. He had taken it from the Danes a few years before. Now all my Wallace children carry on his legacy!

I use this rename feature in every game. I don't erase the city or castle's name, but I add to it. Helps me keep organized.

The format I use (using London as a baseline for example purposes) is:

London(xguildnamex) for towns or castles where I want a particular guild. Helps me remember what is wanted where when the popups come.

London(guildname) for towns or castles that have a basic level guild in them. Helps when looking at the campaign map and planning building/troops builds.

    London(Guildname) for master level guilds

    London(GUILDNAME) for guild HQs.

My campaign map is my war planning map so all the administrative/organizational data I can use is placed upon it.

^ That's a very good idea indeed. I never know what kind of city they mean when I get a guild offer.
