Default Rio VII Flagellum Dei Released

Rio VII Flagellum Dei has been released. One of the additions allows ascribed cities to become more capable to build out side of its current military or economic predisposition. To achieve this though it will require some time and money. New units and buildings have been added and some of the older buildings have been edited to look more original and professional. There have been many changes to jump start factions much earlier In their pursuit of conquering.
I'll be adding a Gaelic name and Hibernia map revision with also new bulgar names as a patch soon and to anything else that needs a fix. Also the Justinian campaign by Elrond is still compatible. the map_rwm needs to be deleted before trying to play it on the Rio VII Mod. Any questions feel free to post them.

See Rio VII Flagellum Dei Download section for downloads. Enjoy

    Hi, Rio.
When I try to enter the game I have this:
    Error loading mount database
    and this:
Script Error in data/descr_mount.txt, at line 197, column 1
Could not find battle model for mount 'armoured horse'

So I can't play the VII version of mod.

Don't you worry Scolot, We will figure it out

Now did you follow these instructions from DL section?

Install instructions to run as a mod switcher on a clean BI 1.6:
    1. DL installer, but do not run, yet.
    2. Copy your whole 'bi' folder within the rtw folder (takes time)
    3. Rename 'copy of bi' to rio
    4. NOW RUN installer, overwriting files in the newly created 'bi'(now rio) folder

-a. (RIO's IBFD) short cut icon will be copied to your desktop to start up the game.
-b. the new rio folder does not affect the original folder(thus not impeding other mod switcher rtw-bi games)

    Should look like this:
As instructed to change your copied original bi folder now becomes rio/data

You should now have your clean unmodded bi folder and after renaming the copy bi folder to rio... a rio folder there too

If I have to I'll make an optional Rar version for ya..

    Yes
    2. Copy your whole 'bi' folder within the rtw folder (takes time)
    3. Rename 'copy of bi' to 'rio'
Yes. Now I have two folders ('bi' and 'rio') with the same content (folders and files are the same).
Yes. I run exe-file and targeted the 'Program files/Rome - Total War/' folder (NOT 'Program files/Rome - Total War/Rio' folder). The exe-program as I understand choose the correct folder itself.

As instructed to change your copied original bi folder now becomes rio/data
I don't understand what you meant.
You should now have your clean unmodded bi folder and after renaming the copy bi folder to rio... a rio folder there too
Yes. Now I have in my 'Program files/Rome - Total War/' folder two folders:
    1) clean unmodded 'bi' folder
    2) 'Rio' folder (changed by exe-program native 'bi' folder)

Thankful in advance for the help
Look forward to play the VII Rio.

P.S. BTW, should descr_mount.txt file be in 'Rome - Total War/Rio/data' folder? I have no descr_mount.txt file in that folder.

The descr_mount.txt file should only be in the rtw/data....Also just something simple to point out. The copied bi folder name is changed to rio
No quotes like 'rio' just like this, rio

Of course, just rio without any quotes.
I've reinstalled Rio VII one more time. I still can't run the game. Only screenimage is loadable and after it again the same problem: Script Error in data/descr_mount.txt, at line 197, column 1
Could not find battle model for mount 'armoured horse'

I can't believe in it. I was waiting for this version so long. Oh, God! Why the destiny is so unfair to me?!

I don't have nor should there be an armoured horse mount in the Rio Mod but stangely it is telling you you have it in one file but not in another one. It might be from another mod that for some reason you put in the bi folder??

Do a search for armoured horse. Go into your originial bi/data/export_descr_unit and also in your rio/dataexport_descr_unit(this is where the different mounts are for units)Tell me if you find an armoured horse mount. The an armoured horse mount for what ever reason might be there and because its not in the descr_model_battle you are getting the error message. If the computer sees the armoured horse in the export_descr_unit txt it needs to see it in the descr_model_battle or an error will follow.

Would show as this when looking in the export_descr_unit file:
    mount armoured horse

I'm thinking the armoured horse is something from the IBFD 7.3. Did you change, add or modify your original bi folder before copying it?

If your original bi has been modified or changed you are going to have to reinnstall bi files from scratch(Unless its the only thing you changed) not only to play the Rio VII mod but for any other mod you want to play that uses a mod switcher.

I have only IJ-mod (and Iazyges have armoured archers :hmmm: ), but it is in switch mod and 'native' BI is running without any problems.

    Rio!
I have no 'armoured horse' in original bi/data/export_descr_unit.txt (I looked it through my backup files of native RTW files). But I have this mount in my current bi/data/export_descr_unit.txt. Could IJ-mod change those files during the installation?
But it is very strange, because 'native' BI I can play without any problem.
I guess, that it will be necessary to me to become before a choice: uninstall IJ-mod or not to play Rio VII. Oh, no...

But. I can't understand one thing. I made Rio-folder from backup (not changed by any mod) of native BI-folder. Why does such error appear? Does Rio VII use current BI-folder files?

I'm not sure what you mean by current bi?? the only bi folder you should have is the original one....If you have IJ and rio now you should only have the original bi folder and ij/data and rio/data.:hmmm:

Hi Rio, I already downloaded the mod and started a 463 AD campaign. This period is insane, the WRE is a joke!!! This is going to be really hard!!! I will try to save the civilized world and hopefully someone will save my butt in the process . Thank you, man.

Before I installed any mods, I've made backup of RTW folder. After that I had two bi/data/export_descr_unit.txt files - in my 'backup' BI-folder and in BI-folder which in RTW folder is (I call it current BI folder ).
Then I installed IJ-mod into RTW folder.
Then I installed Rio VII into RTW folder.
When I tried to do as you said (check and find 'armoured horse' mount), I've found out that:
    1) In 'backup' bi/data/export_descr_unit.txt there are no any 'armoured horse' mounts
    2) But 'current' bi/data/export_descr_unit.txt has 'armoured horse' mount
    3) And rio/data/export_descr_unit.txt has no such mount
And I can't understand why 'current' bi/data/export_descr_unit.txt has 'armoured horse' mount. This file should have no 'armoured horse' mount. It could become changed if I installed some mod into RTW-folder. Only IJ-mod I've installed there.

BTW. I still can't understand. Why this error does appear? Does Rio VII use current BI-folder files?

Hmmm... Are you sure you didn't download a patch or anything incorrectly into the bi? I wonder... but try doing this...copy the original back up bi folder into the current one but you will have to delete the current bi folder first...Its not a good thing if your original bi folder has been changed. If you want to play other mod switchers you will have the same problem if your bi folder has been changed. I really cant See how IJ could change the bi unless a patch was incorrectly made a path to the bi, but .....copying files as you did to have a back up cause such an issue?? Its had for me to think that but stranger things have happened..lol.

lol...It is truly a difficult task to say the least...I would play it on m/m a few times first.
I sometimes feel the need to apologize for the WRE IN 463AD and the evil in me made it a task made in hell....watch out for the generals unit and upper tier units costs early in the game. Playing the Romans in this mod is very difficult but I think rewarding.

Ups. I've found 'armoured horse' mount in descr_mount.txt in current RTW folder. But 'backup' descr_mount.txt has no such mount

Ahhhhhh so the issue is your rtw current data file too. This has been changed I would have to think by a previous patch or mod or just mistakenly. Do you remember changing it?....But I wonder if any other files in your rtw have been changed. You may need to replace the data folder with your back up data folder...like you just did with your bi folder

Now I've only copied descr_mount.txt into current RTW folder. (But it seems to me it should be better to reinstall RTW. We shall see )

Thanks a lot for Rio VII
And many times thanks for help to find the cause of my problem.

P.S. And others: RTW, BI, IJ, - still work. Thanks again.
