    Default Thieves Guild

    I notice that almost every city I conquer from another faction has a thieves guild or master thieves guild in it.

    1) Have any of you ever demolished that building to receive some florins?

    2) Also, by doing so would there be any negative effects?

    3) If you do demolish the thieves guild in a particular city, will you receive an offer from another guild house (for example the merchants guild) to be in that city?

    Demolishing guild houses you dont want does not harm you at all, it just reduces your reputation with the guild (So it wont offer to build them for now) though ai settlements seem to generate massive amounts of thieves guild rep that it may just offer the same guild on next turn.

    Sometimes if im sacking settlements, i demolish everything exept the church. You lose reputation with the pope if you destroy churches.

    1. No, I almost never accept it in the first place. If I capture one, then I just turn that city into my spy recruiting headquarters.

    2. The thieves guild would dislike you. Other than that, I don't think that there is.

    3. Not immediately, but eventually you will get one just like any other city.

    If you already have higher Guild houses that automatically give bonus to all your settlements, do you need to keep basic guild houses or can you just demolish at will?

    The lower and higher (global) guild bonuses stack, so its good to keep both. You don't have to, though.

    I always demolish captured Thieves guilds, leaving only one Master guild, or the HQ.

    I usally demolish them to get better/more useful guilds

    When it comes to Thieves guilds, I'll only have one until I build an Empire where I might then have two or three spread out. Any thieves guilds I acquire after taking a settlement, I just destroy them.
