    Default Help with vista unpacking

I unpacked everything about 3 times, and there are still no files in the data folders. i have vista, and i know this must be the problem because on my old computer with XP, it worked fine. in fact, on this new computer, when i look in the main Medieval II Total War/data folder, there are no files: no EDU's, or anything. just the folders: animations, cursors, fmvs, etc.
anyone know how i can get these files to appear? Thanks in advance.

Strange ...but there no problem with Vista, I have Vista and all work without any problem. If you install Kingdoms all go in ..\Sega\Medieval II Total War\mods\.. folder
Maybe you need turn off User Accounts Control its often make problems to people..its located in ..Control panel\Usser accounts\..

    :hmmm:

I have Vista too and have after long research found that data that should be placed in places where you need admin rights, and you don't have them or you didn't gave it to the application the data is saved in:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\, then just follow the path and the files should be there.

This is because Vista does not directly detect that the application wants to go in administrator-area.

Not really, it's just helping you by protecting your files so nothing can modify them. If you look very closely to cfg file, you'll see that no matter how many times you'll change it, it'll be still the same as it came during instalation. The file that you can change and which one is using by game in in the folder that you just pointed out

BTW just check this thread about TW and Vista: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=89969
