    Default RTW mod skins collection.

Ok guys this is what I am looking for.
I plan to retouch my personal mod with skins and new things in.
There are so many mods around which is nearly impossible to have a look to everyone.
So I want to know from you where to find the best skins for each faction to put into my personal mod.
I would appreciate also suggestions about maps, cities and everything which involves the enviroment too.

    Thx fro your precious help.

Well it's up to you which skins you think are the best so no one can really tell you, start with the downloads section (link at top of this page) and go from there, it might take you quite a while to find everything you want though..

    Good luck.

there are many great faction reskins in the downloads, be sure to keep an eye out for Kali's, Webbird's, and Warspite's work.
RIP Calvin, you won't be forgotten.

Cassus Belli, has some nice skins, their Hellenic Phalangite models are probably my favs but there are some nice eastern archers in there.
RTR, The Iberian Campaign has some of the best Carthaginians and Iberians etc (Particularly Caius' stuff).
RTR mercs which I think are mostly by Warspite are also top notch. As are RTR's Romans which are Ferre's work (One of the Best skinners) Much of RTR's stuff is good stuff, the Iberians are another faction who stand out.
EB has some excellent models which are second to non but their skins don't quite make it into my hall of fame. I'm not saying there not good but not as good as the work of the previously mentioned "artists" (Many would shout me down on that point)
The previous stuff all priorities' realism. There are lots of mods and skinners that don't and I can't really comment on them because i don't play with them.

    Ones to watch out for
Roma Surrectum 2.0 :- There is some very nice Parthian cavalry.
Peninsula Italica :- Fantastic Italic units some excellent Hoplite and phalanx units. I was lucky enough to play the beta and all the units are beautiful. Luciano and Topus Magnus are both very talented. I've also got a few skins in there.

    Thx Kali.
What you think about the Romans made by Ferres, those in Cape and Shield thread?

    So you suggest to :

    -Take Greeks from C.B.
-Carthaginians and Iberians from RTR/Iberian campaign
    -Mercenaries from RTR (Warspite)
    -Parthians from Roma Surrectum

What about the barbarians and egypt?
What you think of Prometheus mod? Better or worse than Ferres and the others?

    The best HOPLITES made KLA:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1525

There are Greek, Italic, Macedonian, Seleucid, Bactrian hoplites from few period: Persian Wars, Peleponesian Wars, Alexander the Great army, and Hellenistic period (RTW).
    Use them

Personally KLA's units don't quite make it into my cream of the crop list but I've got exacting standards. There also a little short on the historically accurate front.
For Gauls I'd be tempted to use a mixture of Cassus Belli's with a few of EB's and RTR 6.0's. Not sure if the latest RTR TIC included their New Gauls but if it did there some of the best Gauls around.
    As for the Ptolemaics,
something similar. I've used RTR 6.0 and C.B as a base added a few re-skinned EB models. I tend to look for the best model's so most of my factions are a blend of several mods.

Yes Exactly what I am trying to do.
I have had a look at Res Gestae models and they seems to be high quality as those from Roma Surrectum mod.
I personally don't like EB models much.RTR is pretty good too.
Kali I would really like to know your assets,I mean what you use from which mod and if you have a basic mod to start from.

I've used several mods as a base in the past, all based on RTR. I'm currently giving a AE a whirl. I usually end up making a lot of changes to get the game to my liking.
EB has also caught my eye recently .... which brings me to my current TW project......

Nothing to fancy I'm just overhauling EB's graphics's,
skin's, UI, banner's etc plus swopping in lots of new models and adding a few extra one's. Although to save time I've borrowed alot of elements from RTR, TIC and stuff I've done for mods that didn't get released, plus quite a bit of material from mod's that are still at the Beta stage. I'm working up to text editing but a lot EB's text files are a little cryptic and take time to decipher. The very fact that their faction names in the text files don't correspond with the factions in game makes the whole thing a pain in the ass.

That is very polite of you. Reading some lines of their EDB file gives me an insta-headache

As a long time admirer of your work, is your project going to be publicly released?

Hmmm, well there will be a lot of permissions to ask, some of which I doubt I'd get. Particularly from the Peninsula Italica team who are still planning to release an MTW2 version of there mod.
But I'll probably release the straight reskins. I've also got a lot of re-skins from various mod's. (i.e from models I've borrowed and swapped into my game) that have been hanging around in my PC for quite a while now. I was thinking of starting a thread where these can be dl'd.

here are a few units I re-skinned for RTR plus an alternative unit and skin for the Italic spearmen.

You'll have to excuse the lack of shadow, I had it turned of for some reason...

Please do, I think your skins are great.

Also another idea, how about if you present your whole customised mod,I'd be very interested to see it.

And maybe the stuff you'd have to ask permissions to release might be sent on PM-request to interested parties, instead of an official release...
