    Default HELP, so hard!

    So I've tried playing medium/hard with greeks, baktria and carthage, and ive been getting wooped each time. im a big city building type of guy, so im not always focused on building strong armies until i have a lot of money, but the enemy seems to have HUGE forces within 10 turns that just overwhelm me in this mod.

    So question is, how can i deal with this other than changing to easy difficulty? should i just start spamming soldiers from the beginning?

    - Don't enable AI bonuses when you install the mod. (You might have to re-install if you had them enabled...)

    - Try M/M difficultly...

    XGM can be hard, but if you play smart you can succeed...

    Not true, it can be changed in the preferences folder in the XGM folder; just look for a note file named Preferences, and alter it. Remember to use either TRUE or FALSE to turn on or turn off. I don't think it affect your saved games though, so you may have to start from scratch a new game.

    it was made to be hard. you should be fighting ASAP when you are playing with a tough faction near you (Greeks:macdons Bactria:TSE or Partha Carthage:Romans)

    As Carthage, it's amazing how much easier the game becomes if you take the fight to your enemies instead of waiting for them to bring it to you. Attack Rome early; attack Iberia to keep them on the back foot, and get rid of the rebels quickly.

    Hurlbut: AI bonuses are applied via buildings that are built using the startup script.
    AI bonuses can be changed in the export_descr_buildings.txt file.

    Um no, you're missing the point. I was correcting cherryfunk about turning on/off after already installing the mod. You don't need to reinstall to turn off the OPTION.

    There's no such option to turn on/off in the preferences file, if you check the AI bonuses it will just install a different export_descr_buildings.txt file.

    I believe RedFox is right, it is a different EDB. If I remember correctly, it adds bonuses to certain capital buildings.
