time and time again religion and its most fundamental aspects have been shown to be wrong, but christians are deaf they just don’t want to listen. it is like all those debates we have had mean nothing ~ just like your belief in pure idiocy.

TBH I don't spend as much time in here as I used to. Besides the Christian/Islam/Judaism/Atheist(deal with it) shouting matches, the language is a bit dry and convoluted too often for my tastes. Too many instances of people talking in silly riddles, or having pissing contests about their particular spiritual thing they've got going on.

I think that Jesus himself didn't mean for his followers to go and kill everyone. Perhaps either the scriptures underwent interpolations early on to make Jesus more acceptable to conquering empires at that time, and then from there it was justification for a lot of bad things. I think if Jesus was around he would be very sad at how the USA, a proud "Christian" nation, tramples underfoot all the native culture and people of that land in the name of Christ and progress. He would have called them the ultimate hypocrites, then get crucified. It is Christmas so I have to defend Jesus in a different way. If you don't believe Jesus is God, then perhaps he isn't perfect. If you believe Jesus is God, then Jesus words were either misinterpreted or interpolated.

I think that people like to talk about religion on this subforum the most because it is the most powerful of all things, it moves and causes both great good and... great destruction.

yes i was drunk and a little more moody than i realised, i had been listening to the radio where the new leader of the libs had been getting slammed by christians and it wound me up a little - i know i should me more unattached!

it seams that these days everything has to be ‘whats right’ [according to a given interpretation] the political correct have gone mad. the important thing here is that if we are all ‘right’ and live like so, this diminishes the entire human product and basically puts us all in a box.

religion should not run countries! yesterday i heard the new liberal leader having to defend himself because he said he was an athiest, christians are pushing hard to ensure they still run things via politics! you can t go on a specifically non-christian forum these days without one coming along and talking their ****. all i want is for them to get out of my face!

Of course they are. The option is open to them, and they think they can change the world for the better, so they're going to try. What do you propose to do, lock them out of office? Force them to change their beliefs? If that's the case, you're no better than the most fanatical evangelical.

And I don't know what you're talking about on the second bit. I frequent several completely secular forums and religion rarely even gets mentioned. Maybe the reason Christians are in your face is that you're dragging them into your face.

TWC is a "secular" forum as well, it's neutral to users religious beliefs.

Yes, it is. But it's only one such forum, plus it has this subforum which encourages people to talk about their beliefs. I have been to several forums which are no more religious or atheist than this, and there's never any real discussion of the religious sort.
