Default The official Merry Christmas IBFD Thread...

Dear friends of the late antique,

In the name of the complete IBFD team (including all other great modifications of course) I wish all of you Merry Christmas.
I will make a little "winter-break" with my wife the next days. We will travel tomorrow to the rest of my familiy. That means we'll spent our time together.
At day 24 we will celebrate the holy night, the birth of Jesus. (That's also the night I'll get my presents, hopefully :-)
I know that there are sometimes differences between the countrys of the celebration

Traditionally we will go to church on day 24 and 25.

    In germany we say
    Frohe Weihnachten und besinnliche Tage

Please feel free and post your wishes in your mother language and what are you doing with your family.

    Best regards
    Pompeius

    Excellent thread

I'm living in Japan and Japan doesn't really celebrate Christmas.
Though school is out (it is a holiday but I have no idea what of, definitely not birth of Christ) I still have a part time job at night, but have asked permission to go home early to go to Church on the 24th.

My baby's first Christmas, and incidentally the Birthday of my wife (we're thinking of a lunch in a restaurant that specializes in tofu dishes )

    In my native Filipino:
Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon

    Merry Xmas, everyone

Hello everybody, I'm Peruvian and my family and I are Catholics. So, Christmas is a very especial day to us. We start celebrating in Christmas Eve (24th), the longer one celebrates, the better (it would be great to begin the celebrations in November, I guess ). The whole family is going to gather in my place, I think. We'll sing, eat, drink and all the stuff you're supposed to do in a birthday party since that's what Christams is about. merry Christmas to everybody!!!

    FELIZ NAVIDAD A TODOS!

    Hello All Good People,

Well I'm Australian, and we celebrate Xmas even though I am a Buddhist, but was raised a Methodist. Xmas in Australia is a time for frantic shopping , but also a time to catch up with loved ones. It is also the start of our long school holidays for the children as it is summer here.

For me, I'm having a couple of weeks off, but will be still at home so I will be checking in every day.

I want to to thank everybody involved in this site, but particulary Ramon for all of his great work with IJ and also Mylae, Gaiten and Pompeius Magnus whose knowledge and support have been invaluable

    Cheers and Happy Saturnalia

    Hello Everyone!

Excellent idea for a thread and may I take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful time, whatever your religion or spiritual views. As the year turns around its darkest pivot and the slow march back towards Spring and the renewal of the sun begins, it's a time to gather strength from your loved ones and celebrate all that gives you joy and warmth in your lives!

I echo here my old pagan beliefs back from when I was a youthful idealist and before I went to university and discovered postmodernism . . .

I would also like to add a personal note and thank all the team here (Ramon, Mylae, Pompeius, Gaiten, etc.) for this outstanding mod which is like a dream come true and is as close to being in the Late Roman era as one could ever likely get - short of inventing a time machine!!

    Thanks to you all . . .

Hello all! I am an American, and I celebrate Christmas though my parents are Unitarian Universalists and I am currently...undecided. Regardless it is a wonderful time to catch up with old friends and family and relax for a short while.

Best wishes to you and yours!

I think after the family commitments are met I will see if the Berbers can't muster for another push into Iberia--thank you, team, for this mod as well!

And since I've decided to learn Czech--Veselé Vánoce!
