Usually you can. Its just little things that really stand out. Gay men that I have ran across always had some little feminine feature. Throughly plucked eyebrows, eyelashes, etc. It's like a metrosexual going too far.

Hehe, I had to laugh at that, defining a homosexual as a metrosexual gone too far... the word 'homosexual' is older than 'metrosexual' so hence my amusement.

Anyways, on topic, I think most but not all gay men you can see in their attitudes and body language. Lesbians as well, usually short spiky hair and they try to carry themselves with a kind of 'manliness'.

If you see a guy with a unshaven little beard, there's much chance he's gay. Also you can see by the look on their face, it's usually friendly. Normal guys have a normal face that is kind of 'whatever' while they are more smiling I think.

No way to tell a lesbian though, but usually theyre average girls.
