I found it recently and it's pretty interesting. The site evidently has artists competing in a contest every once and awhile to create a fictional species or monster based on the certain theme at hand. Their artwork is quite neat but even more so are the takes on that theme. They can be cute, scary, ugly, fearsome, or just weird.

Makes me wish some of them would find their way into more fantasy or sci fi settings. Far more unique than just humanoids of various skin or build.

If you click on the "all entries" link in each post, then you can see much more.

You know it's impossible for any living creature to be that large, right?

Well that's why I didn't put it in the science section.

Most are incredibly fictional and would have no basis in existence. Others are a little bit more plausible for other worlds, but by and large it's just very interesting artwork and takes on species.

Probably because there no way it could supply itself with the Utterly massive amount of nutrients it would need to take in to sustain itself.

Looks like a good site, lots of nice ideas to steal be inspired by. I'd have a go at that Christmas competition if I wasn't so busy with project work.
It seems similar to the modelling/rendering challenges they have on CGTalk.
One thing I wasn't so sure about is that they say 'traditional or digital art, No 3D'. I can understand no photo paintovers, but no 3D? - damnable elitists. It takes more work to model, texture and render a decent image than it does to whip one up with Photoshop or Acrylic. Oil paint may be a different matter, but I don't think I saw any oil paintings there....
