Any thoughts ? I just hope they don't butcher My favorite Series of all time.

Why? A TV series translating into a movie is usually a bad thing.
If they do this it had better be something like a trilogy. If it is any less then its going to be watered down shorthand garbage.
Swear filters are for sites run by immature children.
WETA is a special effects company, so unless they have a director or anything who wants to do this, I don't see how.

From wiki:
Ok, perhaps I should change my previous statement, the creation of a triology "would" make sence.Little has been revealed officially outside the realm of concept art pieces produced by Weta Workshop and statements of intention and desire from the film's producers, ADV Films. Almost all expoundatory information gathered thus far related to the actual content of the film(s) is based on internet fan discussion, which has been running fairly consistently since the project's inception in May of 2003, is speculative in nature, and ranges from difficult to impossible to cite. Much of it, however, can be traced back to one of the earliest forums devoted to the project, hosted at triviabeing.net[4]
No official storyline has been announced, though some fans have speculated over an approach known as the "A-6 Treatment," which would have the (first) film be based upon the first six episodes of the TV series. Both resulting from and parallel to the divulgence of this likelihood, fan speculation on the internet gradually gave rise to a wide expectation that the movie would be more domestic and character-driven approach, rather than a starkly action-driven film, by focusing on Shinji's arrival in New Tokyo and the set of difficult transitions awaiting him there, as well as establish and emphasize character relationships between Shinji, Misato, Rei, and possibly Asuka. Opponents of the A-6 approach have argued that this basic description rules out a lot of important story points, not to mention a handful of central characters who are not introduced in the story until well after the events implied in the A-6 timeframe. However, Matt Greenfield's announced desire for, and promised effort toward, an Evangelion trilogy has rendered much of this debate moot.
Oh I see.
Anyway, Rebuild of Evangelion needs to be released in the U.S., NOW.
So now hollywood's picking up on Anime? They are already filming the Dragonball live action. A Japanese company wants to get someone directing a Ghost in the shell movie in hollywood too.

Here's a site that has most of the up-to-date stuff on it. WETA has had people (actors and directors) contact them, wanting to be a part of it (which is not that common). Robin Williams has apparently been doing publicity for the project to different studios out of his own enthusiasm for it (I'm no Hollywood freak, but I've never heard of this happening).
I have hopes they're going to this justice. They're certainly not going to get the whole "experience" even in three movies, but it should be something to see.
