    Icon7 Cooperation?

    I like the way all of XGM fans and creator's think and work

    Especialy I belive that because my co-mate on the 'AlexEBMod' project urged me to come here and seek help .. - Lgk is to blame for this

    Ok, so, Alexander EB team highly respect's XGM ideas and solution's so we would like to join forces in development of Alexander EB Mod that will support ALX.exe, BI.exe and RTW.exe base EB games..

    That are many 'smart' solution's that can be done.. and implemented in 'AlexEBMod' based on Alex.exe engine..

    XGM does not have a big team, basically you would need to:

    - remake the map
    - discard lots of units/create new ones
    - massively change EBBS (a daunting task at best)
    - rewrite a good part of the trait system
    - do lots of historical research (after all it's EB you're using as base)

    Basically this means:

    - a mapper
    - a full time scripter
    - a full time modeler/skinner
    - a full time historian

    just to start...

    I don't know how much help we could lend, are you getting any from the EB team?

    EB team wont officialy support EB mod's based on Alex.exe - do it is very clear that ALX.exe engine is far more advanced then RTW or BI.exe, also AI is more advanced and the gamplay is faster and more stable..

    There are unofficial supports from some EB members (a few at least )
    We tend to make it a 'MiniMod'

    So we wont be remaking the map and creatimg new unit's (we can't find a modeler - it seem's I will be the one who will have to tweak some model's so we can get unique Pyrros and others).
    Massive changes to EBBS are not my expertise - but Lgk can make it.. And I would like to rewrite a good part of the trait system but we need some that managed to do it in the past, and more often..

    To be clear, I am Master of Economics - specialised in EU economy and Gepolitics of Europe and Euroasia.. So I am not a historian.. More like Gepolitician and Geoeconomists - think-tank (that is the name our profesors call us!

    I'm not sure I understand the project -- if you're modding EB to run in the Alexander engine, what do you need from XGM? EB and XGM are totally opposite -- one is entirely script dependent, and the other has no scripts; one strives for absolute historical accuracy, and the other puts the emphasis on vanilla-like fast, fun play... I like both mods, but don't see any overlap at all...

    Well, XGM is also famed to be very friendly to fellow modders so I think that's why he came here...

    And one more thing here - I had one mode made that remind's me so much of XGM ... oh.. those days

    Also the ideas that make the game more fun are numerous in XGM, also, the fan community here is very very nice to one another - one can smell it in the air

    I think all you need to do is make a mod that's just fun and with a historical background to it. Making things hardscripted can pretty much ruin the gameplay as it's always the same.
    Try making it fun to play with every faction - XGM made it possible by using the Campaign_Script to generate soldiers to the neighboring factions, which made it much more challenging to play.

    Besides that, it's all about having new ideas, putting them down on paper and then making those ideas come true - that's how I do it, anyways... seems to work fine so far.
