    Default Iberian Factions

Hey I was woundering if all the Iberian factions can make Knights of Santiago, and the more elite crossbowmen...you know the ones with the sheilds on their backs.

I just downloaded the mod and so far Im really impressed. I would be playing it right now but Im finishing up my last final. My only problem is that it seems that some of the territories seem too big and should be borken up and add some cities. I just seems that Iberia and England and France and the entire Northen Africa need to be broken up...well the entire map in my opinion...but great work on the mod!!!

    peace out

Aragon can get the Santigo Knights in custom battles but not the campaign, other wise they use their own Avez Knights.

I don't think any of the Iberians can get Pavise crossbowmen... But if one could I think it would be Aragon as they merged with Sicily in the late age.

Buh? I'm pretty sure Spain and Portugal can field Pavise Crossbowmen. Am I mistaken?

I'm gonna pull up SS 5.1 right now and check.

I just hope Spain will get something added in future versions, I still hope for the conquistadores and dismounted conquistadores to become a part of their roster everywhere.

I doubt there will be any conquistadors in the future of SS since KK is taking out the americas.

Maybe some other unit comparable to conq could be used...

Just because the Americas are removed that doesn't mean the unit Conquistador has to be removed. The units can still be kept in order to give unit rooster uniqueness for Spain, something every faction in SS is seriously needing in my opinion. Second, the Conquistadores themselves, as in the unit with the equipment and technology, it did already exist before Spanish attempts to colonise central america.

And yes, Portugal has Pavise Crossbowman, every christian iberian faction has it.

Yeah. Reconquista was a sort of training before their "conquista" of Incas and Aztecs.

Btw, shouldn't Portugal have Banderantes instead of Conquistadores? :-)

But this time, the definition of "bandeirantes" only applies to the portuguese explorers who explored south america and other regions, so in somewhat logical terms a "bandeirante" would only first exist if south america (and south africa) is in.

Besides, perhaps I don't think the unitis necessary. If in SS Spain is given all of it's original unique units (including Santiago Order and Conqustadores) and Portugal is given the lusitanian javelinmen and a religious order of it's own, then we would only have to worry about giving more unique units to Aragon, especially late are unique units.

Its weird either way that they can change spanish troops in America that they cant train in Spain. Its not that they need american resources for it.
