    Default Freeze at initial screen

I'm sure it was a clean install. Whenever I start it up it freezes at the first screen shown.

How long have you waited? It may take up to ten minutes...

Well, it would say Not Responding on the Task Manager screen. I have a pretty high end PC too. Also, its not the small Rome: TW little box screen, its the first full screen with Europa Barbarum on it.

Well, EB takes RTW right to the limit, so it'll take a while on most computers. Don't try and Alt+Ctrl+Del out, just leave it for a while. The first time you load it up, it'll take a bit longer as a result of the game creating a few files, so that could be your problem. Either way, it'll always take alot longer than vanilla to load.

Windows inaccurately calls just about everything that is processing 'Not Responding'. I have a pretty good system and it takes about 5 minutes to start up.

On my current engine it's pretty quick, but on the system I had before, it took awfully long. I thought it had freezed at first too, but then I read about long loading times, started EB, went away, checked back half an hour later et voilą!
