    Default AI mods comparison...

A dummy question…Do not dive on me if someone feels offended.

Lusted AI and XAI2.20c which one is better? I have been using one of them (not gonna mention its name) and it rocks except that Scot sent a full stack sitting right next to a Norway city (empty city) and doing nothing even when I was attacking Scotland.

So I just want to know how does the other one look like.

The same. Blame CA. Thank god there are people who at least try to patch what CA broke by design.

The problem is that no matter how clever or knowledgeable the programmer of the Ai, there is only so many variables that they can play with. This means that even the best Ai, and both of those mentioned are far better than vanilla, IMO, will still do dumb things.

So if I was you I would play a game twice, say for 50 turns plus and see which one works better in SS for your play style. I word it like that because other facters in the mod effect the Ai eg movement, number of factions, money etc, as well as how you play eg turtle, aggressive, exploitive etc, so the honest answer is probarly either.

To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.

Unfortunately, none of the ai's can reach their full potential. Mainly because of issues with the game itself.

There are broken forts, this causes full stacks of troops to be stationed in a fort permanently! That makes the Fortified defense useless, to an AI because it will just keep making forts with garrisons. The armies just sit there and never react.

Deep defense just puts the stacks in the cities, with basically the same effect. They do not intercept incoming armies. What good is that? That defense is only good for a last resort defense.

Those two have the best garrisoning of course.

Normal defense is good and reactive, but only garrisons about half the troops if that.

You have front line which is very important, however if you get attacked from the rear, the AI may not pull those troops back to help the city that is in trouble.

we are all doing the best we can, and have different approaches to the many obstacles we face. So, this debate is actually moot, because it basically comes down to your playing style.

I gave those examples on the defense though, so that you understand that WE currently cannot fix all the issues that are out there. There are many more issues that affect the AI. We just have to ask CA to fix them.
Maybe then you could ask your question, because then the AI's will work much better.

So, what's the main difference between XAI and Lusted's? I have used Lusted's (with updates) just because it was included in the SS 5.1 by default...

    Anyone to answer?

    echad,
no one has the balls to answer in today liberal "don't hurt anyone's feelings" world. i've noticed that XAI offers a little more stable alliance system with better strategic moves (army placement) by the AI, but the pope is still a retard and overaggressive. i know xeryx is fixing that. I haven't used lusted's in a while, but I saw that it was a little less aggressive (maybe for more displomacy?) and the pope was willing to make friends with everybody... oh, and he ate meat on fridays.

You need to retract that statement, as it is inappropriate for this board.

Echad, no offense..but if you want to find out the issues dig in. You look at posts, they have been said. In multiple places. Even the TW bugs boards. I have not played Lusted's AI so I cannot say.

@ guck, yes the pope is fixed, he will still attack if you really disgrace the church though. Hopefully we will bring you some new surprises on this D(arthed) release!!

Seen a smiley in the end? =) These kind of posts always rage someone... What's bad in burning the nazi? My grandfathers done that in WW2... =\ LMAO =)

In that case, I would just finish my campaign with what I have installed. Not in a mood to search the forums.

Have you used my latest AI, the 4th version of my latest Experminetal AI, as it's a bit of a change from the earlier versions.

Doesn't matter if there is a smiley or not, you might want to review the forum rules. I personally do not care. I am pointing it out so you do not get in trouble.
