campaign script, tech support?

i love this mod, it appeals to me way more than others due to the traits ancillaries features coupled with great historical reference. However I have a severe problem: the game lags very very bad once I initiate the campaign script.

I have referred back to the EB FAQ page and spent almost 2 hours last nite doing everything listed so that it may run a bit faster. I have a AMD Athlon 3500 proc with an Asus mobo, GEforce 7600 Pro OC video card, and 2 gigs of ram, with 200 gig HD. How does it lag? I havent had any other mod from the Total War series lag as bad on my comp. Any suggestions? I dont want to not play EB but I also cant stand the lag.

That's the price we have to pay for such a great mod I'm afraid. If you take a look at the size of the script, you'll see why the game slows down when you activate it.
