Well, like I said in the other thread on this, it's gonna be like Stargate without the Aliens.

Godzilla sucked; and the Day after Tomorrow had a scientific core. Of course movies like Independence Day aren't accurate, every idiot knows they aren't trying to be accurate but there are a stream of ''historical'' movies which just revolve around a guy with a Viking helmet beating stuff up with really bad CGI (Beowulf). A lot of those movies are just attempts to get lots of cash really quick or/and to test new graphics. I liked the accurate movies more than the inaccurate ones. Alexander is one of my favourites because it kicks ass and is historically accurate. You'd think that the large movie companies would try to please the history buffs, the largest group who want historical movies.

If Day After Tomorrow had a scientific core then 10,000 BC is historically based.

I didn't say how large the core was.

It's from the same people that made The Day After Tomorrow. That should answer your question on accuracy.

To me, this looks like an enormous pile of ****. But it'll make more than enough money - people will go to see anything with Special Effects nowadays.

You say that like it's a bad thing. They're in the business of telling stories, not teaching history.

I'm not sure I would even classify this as "historical fiction." More like "fantasy."

    Why does inaccurate=crap?

Is LOTR crap because magic isn't accurate in regards to physics?

Maybe if you knew your facts you wouldnt say such things, 300 was not a great movie not because it was historicaly inaccurate but because it had a bad script.
The movie is pretty accurate considering it's source material, a bloody comic book.

You are aware that, for example, Goethe's Egmont
(my personal favourite piece of him) is inaccurate aswell?
