So how does the Great Cross work in a fight?

i dont really know, but in reallity this was used for keep the moral high on battle, but in SS i can't say this do the same !

I believe it has an area of effect morale bonus, like general's units. Units in the immediate vicinity of the Great Cross get a boost to their morale.

Areal morale boost plus the unit pushing it is also a bunch of tough guys. It's a shame it's so damn slow to move the thing around, it is real fun to use it.

When defending, block the gate with great cross and let the burning oil do the job

The great cross and Carircco Standard sp? Have the same stats and do the same thing. It gives a massive boost to moral to units in close vicinity to it. It will make your troops around it fight to the deal. They will not run!!! Very useful in siege defense as it does the same thing as your town center does.
