Teh Current presumptive heir will become Sultan. The only way yo ucan get it to pass to the True son who has now come of age is to get the presumptive heir killed before your current Sultan dies so that the Heirship moves to the correct person.

    Ah, sorry, forgot that part

If yo uwant to transfer ancillaries, such as the privy seal, then get the general who has them and the one you want to have them in the same army or town as each other. The open up the details for the general WITH the seal and simply click and drag it onto the general you want to give it to.

Most things can be transferred although some things such as "mentors" etc. cannot be transferred.
    Hope thats clear enough

My pleasure - always happy to help!
Rep is given with the little green plus next to people's names, once the box comes up that allows you to give rep and reason its pretty straight forward.

i remember in rome total war you were able to change the next in line to be the faction leader of the 3 roman familys.

Its a terrible shame you cant do the same for this game, it would be great to do that, and maybe even trigger some kind of rebellion from the upset family member that is no longer going to inherit the kindom/empire he feels hes entitled too.

I'd like to see that as well.

It would make for even better historical accuracy too.

After the death of the Fatimid ruler, al-Mustansir, the fight over the succession between his older son al-Nizar and his eventual successor, al-Musta'li had massive repercussions. Even though al-Musta'li was eventually the winner, his brother was considered by many Shi'a to be the rightful successor to the Caliphate. Thus the split which led to the Nizari sect of Islam, and from them came the feared Hashshashin.

And then there was the succession in Syria. After Tutush died, via the maneuvering of various governors and advisors his elder son Ridwan lost out to the younger Duqaq. The resulting chaos as a result of their fighting left them unable to resist the First Crusade. Had the Sultanate of Syria remained intact rather than fractured between them, they might well have been able to repulse the First Crusade!

Things like that make the game more interesting for me.

ironic in that it is infact the syrian caliphate i am playing as...and Tutush is current sultan...but his 2 sons are dead...and now has a third...unfortuneately i adopted a general...does that end the royal dynasty?

Try to keep the Sultans 3rd son alive and breeding - even if the other guy becomes Sultan as a Regent then the heirship SHOULD pass to the original Sultan's 3rd son and continue along the natural lines.
Although sometimes this doesnt work as MTW2 seems quite random at times with who it picks to be the heir!
Good luck with it - it's always a great challenge keeping yoru family name going when yo uhave lots of adopted usurpers to contend with!

it is very cool though how you end up with like 2,3 or more main family lines. would be mad to spend time building a big stack only to have the family member turn and attack you due to a decision you made, perhaps a diplomat could go and offer him the title, the seal, marridge, heir presumptive. Or you decide you didnt like him anyway, he was a naff govenor and even worse general and head in and kill him.

BUT then you get attacked by another faction and it all gets rather crazy :hmmm:

i wish i knew how to mod
