    Default Adding Units

    I was trying to add a few units to a particular faction, I manipulated the export_descr_unit files by adding the faction name onto the units I wanted to add. and also did the same with the export_descr_buildings file. The units were added to that faction but the units look like generic peasants on the unit cards, when I fight a battle some of the calvary units I added are riderless! What else do I need to do to finish the process and make them show graphically correct? Any advice? Thanks.:hmmm:

    The limit of 500 units has been reached, unless you remove a unit from the game your mod will CTD as soon as you load it up.

    EDIT: If you are trying to add certain units to a certain faction you need to make sure that the faction in question can support the unit in question with the proper models and such.


    For an example, it would be easy to add Lancers to both Spain's and England's unit roster, as they both have the plate barded horse model and the heavy plate armor model(the late generals bodyguard with the armor upgrade)


    It would be impossible to add Lancers to Egypt's unit roster though without the aid of certain programs such as milkshape pro, if you try they will show up as Grey blobs in the shape of the unit or not at all.

    Thanks for the response fenix, I will look into the link you sent and see what I can do. I was trying to add templar units to the Jerusalem Faction or Vice versa not to spark up the jerusalm vs templar debate but when I play one I wish it had some of the others units. Anyway judging by what you said it looks like it may not be entirely possible. but I will see what I can do. Thanks.
