    Default promising mod

ive been playing IB for a few days and i must say that i enjoy it. that is, until i get a CTD. from what ive seen, the mod is very unstable. each time ive played i crash every few turns. also during battles i get strange prisms/rectangles and patterns at certain angles.
not to sound rude, but why would you even release such an unstable mod?
and is there a patch to improve stability on the way? (im running 7.03)

Hi, Timmy0420 and welcome to this forum. IBFD is certainly a great mod, but it seems that, unfortunately, you're having some serious problems with CTDs. Do you have all of the scripts activated? That sometimes causes CTDs, it could be a good idea to switch them off. Version 7.03 is the most stable so far, but that is not happening in your case, I'm sorry to hear that. Some of us believe that is a problem of hardware compatibility, since some people don't have issues as serious as yours. I, for instance, hadn't experienced not even one CTD during my campaign until I lost it because of a different problem . In my case it's a very stable version. My recommendation would be to deactivate the scripts and see what happens next. Good luck!

I totally agree with you timmy, this mod is awesome and the units are the best and very detailed, and everything is great especially the indestructive buildings and the new traits and ancillaries, but the major problem is that about 90% of the factions in the mod are unplayable simply because they ctd after few turn, and even in a single turn in the case of the WRE,I've played the ERE campaign and I really enjoyed but the game crashed after I had victory (45 provinces inluding arkaxia,ctesaphone..etc),thank you guys for making this masterpiece, but please really deal with this serious problems.

Go to the folder where you downloaded the mod. There you'll find a folder called ibfd, follow this path: ibfd>options>scripts. When you get to scripts you'll be given several options: 4tpy, full scripts, no scripts and sack of rome. I recommend you to select 4tpy because if you select no scripts you'll get only 2 turns per year.

there are a lot of people who are playing the mod without crashing 'every few turns'. Though I admit it is virtually impossible to make a bug free modification from a crash prone game.

unfortunately, for some, it is more of a hardware incompatibility issue, only way I can envision doing this is to have different computers with diferent hardware profiles that I can test on(I accept donations ).
I understand that problem and I have no choice but to accept it, the other alternatives is simply (as you suggest) not to release at all (easier actually for me, I can be playin and enjoying mods - and probably be bashing them - rather than slaving away at IBFD)
or to release a completely safe mod - just change the skins or campaign descriptions (even that can cause CTDs I have found)...

unfortunately, if ur having these problems with 7.03 I doubt further patches would make it more stable for you.
