Marian reforms - can I make them happen later on?
Hi all,
I must confess I find most of the post-Marian Roman units not nearly as stylish as the older ones. The Legions are effective, but, in a way, so boring, having the same equipment and such. Is there a way I can edit the game so as to delay the Marian reforms until, say, 100 BC?
And, while I'm at it, I'd like, in future XGM versions, to see a new Thracian unit, if that's possible: I'd love an armoured "elite" version of the falxmen, e.g. wearing the same mail the thorakitai are clad in.

The trigger is construction of an Imperial Palace, by a Roman faction, in a region that has the "italy" hidden resource (in world/maps/base/descr_regions.txt). The easiest way to delay the reforms is to remove the italy resource for all but one region, and then reduce the farming level and starting population for that region.

Easiest way is to take out the farming bonus from the gov buildings, makes the game quite slow in growth...

Thanks, both of you. Wouldn't the removal of the hidden resource "Italy", however, prevent me or whoever is in Italy from recruiting Italic AOR units?
[Edit: I just realised there is a special sticky for unit proposals, so sorry about the falxmen stuff]
