Instructions for Garnier's Killsheet and Legion Tracking Version 2.0:
Legion Tracking.
1.
When you recruit a legion, write the name of the General commanding the Legion in the "Current Status" cell to the right of the Legion's number. Even though premarius legions are not numbered in game, I recruit one for each city and use that city's number just like I do with republican or imperial. After the name, write the date he took command of the legion in parentheses. The in the "Formed" cell in the Legion's row, write the date the legion was formed, and write the same date in the "Refitted" cell. The refitted and ready cells are not used for pre-marius, because pre-marius legions have no restrictions on when they can be refitted with legionaries.
Once this is done, format the "Current Status" cell with the colors of the faction they are deployed against. So for instance, in my campaign Legio II was formed in 211 BC, and Luca Tullus is the general. The legion is deployed against Carthage:
After each major battle that is fought (you can decide what battles you consider major or minor) you must do the following.
First, subtract your "men remaining" number from your total strength number on the victory screen. Having a calculator on hand while playing is a good idea. Then in the LOSSES column, type in this number (strength minus troops left), and then in the KILLS column of the faction you were fighting, enter the number of kills from the victory screen. Now these kills will automatically be entered alongside your losses. Also enter the legion number in the L: column, format the losses/kills cells with the colors of the faction you were fighting, and make sure the date listed on the left of the legion numbers is correct. Here is my killsheet in 202 BC, for an example:
So the first battle I fought (that against Hannibal), was in 215 BC, fought by Legio XIV, and I lost 634 Romans and killed 3795 Carthaginians.
The minor battles section is for all the battles that weren't significant enough to be listed in detail. The losses and kills from these battles should be added up and entered just like with major battles.
Now go back to the legion tracking sheet, and correct the "battles won/lost" for the legion that just fought the battle, adding one to the correct cell. For instance, my Legio XIV has won two battles against Carthage, and five against Gaul. The total legions, and total wins/losses are calculated automatically when you type in the specifics as described.
If you have any questions, ask them.
I attached a zip containing a blank killsheet, and mine as shown in the examples, so you can see how I have things formatted.
