Beat game with Byzantines...what next?

So my Byzantine game was brilliantly run...but what now? I want a challenge, any faction recomendations?

Try the HRE or this time try an Islamic country. In MTW (1), my best game experience was playing the Turkish.

I gotta say, if you want a challenge, do the Turks. They are extremely difficult, what with the Mongols/Timurids+ the weak early Era infantry, It's quite the challenge.

Try Scotland. Its such a calm campaign with them. Or try the English where it you can make the ultimate fortress with the British Isles.

Must agree with stuntdawg5 turkey is a lovely place to start if you want a challenge. Once youve stabilised the mongols are on you, beat them and the timurids are on you.

Also Russia can be a pain but thats just logistical as everyone has to walk a million miles to get anywhere

I quite enjoyed my Venice campaign. The opening stage with the battle for control of northern Italy is quite fun. Can´t beat those Venitian Infantary guys as well.

If you have Kingdoms, I recommend Scotland. But to do well you need to listen to bagpipes during battles or your troops will lose heart, because they'll ken your a lowlander.

I agree with everyone who said the Turks or Venice because both come with challenges and certainly battle rich. The Turks are hard because of the Mongols and turmiuds but after this intial set back you unleash some of the games more enjoyable units e.g Janissary musketeers they basically are like snipers but lots of them. Venice you just get attacked by everyone but you have to establish a strong base at the beginning so try one of them and good luck you wont be disappointed.

i went with russia. I'm enjoying it so far, poland is pretty much getting owned by my wide variety of mounts. The mongol event just occurred, so...its about to get interesting. I guess its time to upgrade my walls....

I would recommend the danes, a relatively challenging starting position with very high potential yet. And great infantry.

ya, im kinda stuck with choosing another fraction to play as also. i was enjoying my Bzyantine campaign i suddenly got bored of it....
