Ways to make this game more fun

What are some ways you guys play to make this game more fun?

I've already blitzed across Europe and now I'm thinking of just conquering 10-20 settlements and then playing a diplomacy game.

Try a campaign without using any assassins except for missions or not starting a war with anyone unless called on crusade or against some nation of a different faith. I once tried to do everything I could to get the capital up to maximum income and tried to get as high a chivalry general as I could.

1. hotseat multifaction campaigns
2. Roleplay elements (some mods help on that, DLV, SS)
3. Heavy diplomacy games
4. peaceful campaigns
5. relocations of factions

Try playing Deus lo Vult mod especialy on VH/VH or Lands to Conquer - it will make your game fun straight away ;-)

homefry returns to General Discussion! As the others have said, get some mods, or make the game mega-hard for yourself.

Be a kind ruler, never raise tax above normal, keep it low where possible, release all prisoners and don't conquer, take vassals instead. Let them rule there own land, but make sure they know whos boss. I love seeing England still in Britain and conquering the world. With every general chivalrous.
