    Default Last Question: Campaign Map

Has anyone had explored altering rebel unit sizes and effectiveness (armor, exp, etc.) in slowing the AI down? I have maxed out the Garamantine and Numidian rebels in order to slow the Qarthast's expansion; lowered Taras' and Rhegium's garrisons to entice Rome to be in a position to 'assist' Messina by 250 BC; jacked up Syracuse and Pergamum to keep them in the game till @240BC +/- 10 years and also reduced the garrisons from Segesta to Arse to entice Roman expansion that way while buffing the Alpine tribes to keep them independent longer. I've also changed some of the starting relationships. Lastly, I've experimented with solidifying certain armies, like the Casse for example with mixed results.

What have been your experiences with doing similar mini-modifications? Any pointers or suggestions? I've looked at konny's mod in the past, never implemented it, and now I can't find it!

Currently EB uses different rebel armies based on what factions the the player is in order to help direct the AI. The Boii script in central Europe is also a huge effort to stop the AI from conquering areas that it shouldn't. "Redmeth" did a ton of work on the rebels just before the v1.0 release and I believe he is continuing to tweak things.

He did some nifty work, because Rome usually goes after Gaul and Greece now instead of the Baltic like it used to! I think one of the first major expansions outside the peninsula was Corsica and Sardinia. Any way to get them to do naval landings? BI.exe and some resource-scripting? Any observations would be welcome, even failures (then I don't have to explore well-trodden dead-ends!)

There is a detailed explanation and an installer for BI.exe here

    Ferromancer's BI.exe for EB1.0

You might want to edit something in the descr_sm_factions, though, somehow the Karthadastim keep landing strange armies (such as 20 Akontistai) near Capua to take it. To change this, simply change "prefers naval invasions" from Yes to No or something like that.

I'm playing with BI.exe myself, and I've seen Roma taking Corsica and Sardinia.
