Default Resizing the CAE map and adding regions

Would you consider increasing the size of the map and adding more regions, especially in the east? I've tried another mod with a larger map and with alot more settlements and it was quite enjoyable. It also seemed to give the weaker AI factions a better chance to survive a bit longer since the stronger factions concentrated on capturing the various rebel settlements and the weaker factions had more time to expand. The bad part is it wasn't your mod so it was far inferior in all other aspects. It just couldn't hold a candle to work. I've tried to merge the other mod's map into yours but I just don't have the modding skills to sucessfully add the settlements and to resize the map. Hopefully it's something you would consider doing for your next version.-

Thanks again for such a wonderful mod.

Actually this weekend I worked on the map a little bit,and managed to expand it a bit east from 3 points on the map, however there was a ctd and couldn't check it in game.

Although I think it won't make for the next version,I also believe that some work on the map may be essential due to overcrowdance of factions in certain areas..

Also thank you very much thinking and saying my mod is very good

Back to the topic, I think the mod would greatly benefit from an extension east.

I have been playing using Ataegina's Mini-AddOn for 1.3, and I did a little experiment. Last week I manually added a little over 20 new regions to map_regions.tga, many of them in the eastern part of the map. In this recent campaign, I've just sat back and watched as Khwarezm and Abbasid factions have started to become major powers in the middle east. In earlier campaigns I've played using CAE, these two factions would normally sit there with one or two territories and not really do anything. It's nice to see them expand and it's truly making for an interesting campaign.
    Hello ConquerAll,

It's always a pleasure to hear that another mtw2 enthusiast enjoys CAE.As you may or you may not know, hardcodedly the expansion of factions primarily and heavily depends on the abundance of rebel provinces(unfortunately)

I agree that the map could use a bit of extension to the east(not too much and too deep) since now Georgians are ready to be added as an another eastern faction.. And we obviously need space.

And the space needed can be compensated by dividing the existing regions. However, when this method is consistently used, what we'll have is a map that consists of lots of small provinces. Therefore the most proper method is extending the map, rather than using the dividing method.

So I've worked on the map a bit and managed to extend it to east from 3 points, unfortunately currently there is a problem. But when I'll solve it,I will include that to CAE,and release it.

The Balkans and Eastern Europe could also use some extension, since An invasion of Ottomans event with details is planned.

Probably, you are right. The trick here is I need to pay attention so that it doesn't lag the game..Not to mention terrible ctd's or bugs.

overcrowdance isnt anything strange to me , countries have to fight and go to war all the time and thats nothing strage , is it possible to make a.i. "understands what does an alliance means" , to make some countries more friendly than others (for example hre and teutons , spain and portugal , rusians and byzantium and other stuff )

oh how did you solve the problem with main menu crashes , every mod that adds more factions has it , when you select factions several times it crashes

It's possible to make AI staying more loyal to alliances and ceasefires. And it's possible to make certain countries friendly or hostile towards eachother. It's also possible to lengthen the period that factions won't go on war with eachother, but build up their strength..

But as far as I know most people love that the AI don't stick to their alliances and "jump" on eachother early on.But I'd appreciate people's thoughts of what kind of adversaries(AI) would they prefer during their campaign...

That problematic CTD has currently no fix.. And as far as I know no fix had been found for it on the other mods as well.
