I know there's a supreme commander thread, but it hasn't been used in a while, plus it was on post 98 and I didn't want this to get stuck at the end of page 5.
Anyone played this yet?
I didn't even know it was out until a few days ago, it's all kinds of fun (if you liked the first one).
There is a new race, the Seraphim, as well as new units and a new experimental for all the existing races.
I'll go over some of my favorite new units here:
Cybran
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Cybran is probably my favorite race in the game (apart from their lack of heavy shields, that annoys me). They got a pretty good upgrade in units.
My favorites are:
Jester - tech 1 gunship: Being a tech 1 vehicle, clearly the Jester isn't a superweapon by any stretch of the immagination, and is in fact very weak compared to every tech 2 gunship. Why then do I like it enough to put it in my top 3 new additions? Simple, it gives the Cybrans a huge advantage is striking vulnerable units and patrols in the very early game. To take out moving patrols and engineers, other races have to use hit or miss (usually miss) bombers, which also have to make long passes, potentially moving them into AA ranges. The Cybrans don't have that problem.
Hoplite - tech 2 missile bot: Nothing flashy, just a nice unit with a powerful and somewhat rapid fire missile strike.
Megalith - Experimental crab walker: This thing is BIG. I have put it up next to the Monkeylord, Commander, and Mantis for scale. it's a massively armed and armored mobile killing machine. When on land it has the firepower of a battleship from its main turrets, and when in water it is submerged and has massive firepower from it's 10 torpedo tubes. It can also build several types units by "laying eggs" (this is identical to normal unit building, it just looks different). It's only weakness is that it has no close range defenses, so keep some Monkeylords with it.
Aeon
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:The Aeon new units aren't all that impressive IMO, but I have never liked Aeon anyway so I guess I'm biased. There are a few I like quite a bit though.
Salvation - tech 3 rapid fire artillary: Remember the Vulcan cannon from TA? Well, this isn't that good. But it's still pretty darn good!
Blaze - tech 2 hover tank: Hovering tank with a rapid fire gun, basically similar to the UEF hover tank, which is cool.
Solace - tech 3 torpedo bomber: I hated torpedo bombers in SupCom, they seemed so weak to me. To have something as fragile as air power, and still take 10 passes to destroy a single frigate (which is like 1/3 the price) was ridiculous. Enter Solace, the torpedo bomber I have always dreamed of. Not only does it takes much more damage than the tech 2 version, each pass it drops a payload of 6-8 guided torpedos that will tear through lower level ships in one or two passes.
UEF
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:I have always liked the UEF. I like their "stand up and fight" type playstyle, with massive armor and huge firepower. I also enjoy their air superiority and their powerful defenses.
Mongoose - tech 2 assault bot: It's a humanoid robot with a minigun on one arm and a grenade launcher on the other. That is pretty much everything I could ever ask for in a tech 2 unit.
Percival - tech 3 seige bot: This unit takes the UEF's "Stand and fight" playstyle to a whole new level. With 9000 hitpoints it is one of the toughest normal land units in the game. It's also got a massive cannon and is amphibious, all around an awesome unit.
Spearhead - tech 3 mobile missile platform: Launches 3 powerful, accurate, and long range missiles in rapid succession. Pretty much the perfect unit to defend against tough enemies and breach defensive fortifications.
Ravager - tech 3 point defense: A massive minigun that will rip through the toughest armors at long range. Effective against land and sea based attackers.
Continental - tech 3 air transport: Probably my favorite new unit of all. With the expansion giving all three factions a tech 3 gunship, I was afraid the UEF's air power advantage would be gone, not so. This bad boy is tough, has a personal bubble shield (which is awesome, as the biggest problem with the C-14 tech 2 transport wasn't being destroyed, they are pretty tough too, it was losing the units they were transporting before they could be delivered), and has 28 transport slots. That's enough for 28 tech 1 units, 14 tech 2, or 6 tech 3 with 4 leftover slots. The next largest transport in the game has 12 slots. An entire invasion force can be transported safely through all but the toughest AA fire in a few of these bad boys.
Also I love them because they have finally given a use to my beloved Mech Marine. I love those guys, they remind me of the lowly yet effective PeeWee from TA, except they are even more lowly and not at all effective. They may very well be the weakest combat unit in the game. I had somtimes put them in a T2 transport and used it as a gunship, however even the slightest AA fire, even if the transport could barely feel it, would take out the poor marines. Now with the bubble shields, and over twice as much firepower, the mech marine gunship is finally a tough and powerful aircraft.

Seraphim
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:The Seraphim are the new race on the block in SupCom. I haven't had a chance to play them too much, but I have build most of the units and have liked what I have seen. Obviously as a new race all of their units are new to the XP, so I'm just listing my absolute favorites so far.
Hauthuum - tech 3 battleship: Pretty much your standard battleship armanent, but I like the way they look. It appears that they are actually broken into several completely separate chunks of ship, that are just floating together.
Ilshavoh - tech 2 assault bot: I love the look of this unit, it's design as well as the way it moves. For some reason it reminds me of a wolf, which is also why I liked that picture, as it was running through the snow with a Selen scout bot, almost like a mother wolf running with her cub.
Ahwassa - experimental bomber: This is one massive and powerful bomber. It drops a bomb that splits the earth in three directions before exploding with enough force to take out almost any building. One of these is sufficient to cripple a base, several would spell doom for an unprepared player.
In fact, I haven't yet figured out how to stop these things. They are faster than other air experimentals, thus don't need to fear them much, and they would take so many hits from air superiority fighter or ground based AA that they are almost guaranteed to make several passes on almost any base.
Ythotha - experimental assault bot: Think Krogoth. Perhaps not that powerful, but it uses that style of combat. Most experimentals in the game focus on one extremely powerful weapons, and have a couple of somewhat powerful ones for defense. This guy has 3-4 different weapons systems, all extremely deadly.
Not only that, but after you finally kill the guy, he becomes a ball of pure energy that lingers in one place for quite a while, frying anyone that gets near with lightning.
