need help with hannibal

but im trying to play on H / H and i get really asskicked by Hannibal every time...how to beat him on this difficulty

also, how to reduce loading times?

nothing is impossible my friend czePowerslave !!! I like your spirit !!! I play as Greeks mostly on VH/VH and have no problems so far (i.e. 50 region controlled) ... touch wood !!! I have played the Romans once on VH/VH ... the game is definitely harder than ever but, I managed to conquer Carthago !!!

Hannibal huh .... with house rules .... means no killing Hannibal first !!!!
First thing to do in the game is to advance two armies .... one Flavius Julius and two Vibius Julius towards Hannibal ..... to defeat Hannibal my friend I am sorry you have to attack and not defend taking a hell lot of beating !!!!

Use Velites to destroy his elephant units ..... they are usually aloof from the army and are unlikely easy targets .... and should they charge towards your Velites ..... use Triarii units to hold them off ..... you other army (reinforcements) should hold off the rest of Hannibal's army long enough for you to do this ..... use the remainder of your army to help your reinforcement fight enemy troops and then use your cavalry to destroy enemy missile units !!!!

Then my friend house rules does not say you cant attack Hannibal simultaneously ...... so your Triarii units after figthing the elephants (usually near Hannibal) should be free to attack him ..... do not hesitate to use Velites when you Triarii are engaged !!!! Write to me regarding your results ..... make sure you kill Hannibal the first time you fight him !!!! or elese hunt him dow until he is dead !!!!
