    Default Knights of The Crusade

How do you get the chapter houses to recruit crusader knights - hospitaller, knights of santiago, etc.? Cos i got the hospitaller knights in a city i captured and i think the chapter house comes like a guild.

So how do you attract the chapter houses?

You gain guild points when you join the crusade (25 points), and if you leave 4+ chivalry general in the settlement (5 points per turn).
You need 150 points to get an offer. I also think that the settlement needs to be at least at the Fortress level. I'm not sure for city requirements.

Once you build your first guild, for each knight you recruit you gain 10 points in that settlement, plus 1 point in all others.

You can have only one type of the guild.

^Is that one type of guild per settlement or 1 per faction?

One guild of any type, per settlement. So, the first time you get an Explorer's guild, Thieve's guild, St. John's Chapter house, etc., it locks out any other competing guild offers IN THAT SETTLEMENT. If a settlement qualifies, it can still get an offer later to upgrade the guild (e.g., upgrade Thieve's guild to a Master Thieves guild, which could possibly be upgraded to a Thieve's guild world headquarters. There can only be one master guild of each typ per faction, and only one world headquarters of each type per game.

To the best of my knowledge you can only get crusader knights on crusade (and it is very much worth going on crusade to get them: these guys rock).

To get those guilds, you need 100 points (not 150).

The fastest way to get them is to send 4 generals on a crusade... You'll need 28 troops for thatn since you need to make 4 SEPERATE crusading armies each with one general and 7 troops. The good news is that any 7 units will do, including -say- usints that have only 5 men left.

This is why I never reorganise units after early battles : I keep re-using all those low level start units and when they are down to 10 men or so, I set them apart somewhere. Then when a crusade is called, I use them to make 4 armies with each 7-units and convert them one by one to crusader armies.

That gives all your settlements 100 points and the guild offers come popping up...

Make sure that as soon as you got a guild somewhere, you buy a knight EVERY TURN, so that all your settlements get 1 guild point every turn, that way, you'll get guild offers every turn...

Oh, and don't bother with the upgrades, they are wortless

You also get offers in regions (with a fortress) that are bordering Muslim regions.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

No they are not. You get knights with higher experience level, which is a very good thing.

In the case of the Knight Orders though (Hospitaller, Templar, Santiago) you can get via the guild offer only one per faction.
If you are lucky and manage to conquer an enemy city that has the guild establishment of a different order, you can recruit from both or three.
