skin issues.
I noticed several things considering skins.
First of all, I often see shields not having the skin correctly on them, I believe its mostly happening with mercenaries. The mercenary frankish knights I am very certain of since I saw them just yesterday. I did see it more often and would like to point it out.
I also would like to make a comment about the templar knights in partial plate. Their white and red colors seem a bit too bright, I think this may need to be tweaked a bit to have the same shades of red and white as the shield and the cloth of the horse.
I also noticed that the upgraded bodyguard of Jerusalem has the wrong skin of partial plate on them. They use the vanilla english skin here.
To stay with the kingdom of Jerusalem for a moment, I also noticed that the horses of the knights of Antioch have the wrong horses. They have the horses of Edessa and not of Antioch. I believe its edessa, the horses have dark purple cloths.
Alright, that where the issues, and now I have a few suggestions.
I see a lot of painted bucklers and shields, but I believe that it was mostly those with viking roots that painted round shields and bucklers. Maybe the color could be removed from most bucklers and round shields to give a more realistic look, just keep them a wooden color.
Considering heather shields, I really like the new look of the Silician ones. Perhaps some other factions could get similar heather shield designs.
All the new skins seem to be mostly for earlier units, this makes them sometimes look like a different faction than the late units. I think that late units such as lancers, arquebusiers, conquistadores and such should get some reskins too.
I know that a unit like lancers is fully covered in armor, but perhaps some could get a bit of gold decorations, or darker armor or different designs. I believe that some italian factions have some gold on partial plate and full plate, so this could be continued for them in late plate armor.
Also I find that the musketeers and arquebusiers still look so much alike for each faction. the vanilla colors are usually way too colorfull even, using a lot more colors than the faction colors.

Re: skin issues.
I concur with you, especially on the bright colors. In fact (if I may hijack your thread) I think a lot of factions could need some color editing/reskin and a few new models - The heavy use of colors, mainly the bright ones make some units and whole factions look out of place.
Some suggestions:
**Use darker colors - BC has done a great job in this area, so you could probably find some great inspiration here.
**Less use of the Coat of Arms colors - I would like to see a greater mix of colors, rather than you stick to the colors of the COA only. Many nobles had there own COA's with different colors and so did the warriors they brought to the field of battle, when the king called for military aid.
**The degree of colored clothing and armor worn should be determined by the units rank in the medieval society - The higher rank the more use of color and so on.
An example:
- Kings, Bodyguards, Knights - Color from tip to toe. Armor, Shield and Clothing.
- Heavy Infantry - Color from hip and up. Armor, Shield and Clothing.
- Light Infantry - Color from hip and up. Shield and Clothing.
- Militia - Color from hip and up. Shield or Clothing.
- Peasants - No color.
A factor I think should also play a role is ofcause the location and tradition for color for the specifik faction. Middle east colorful - Scandinavia not so colorful.

Now as for remodelling - I have three humble requests.
**For the early and high era I would like to see a few more unbarded horses (like the Norman Knights). And here I have two spicifik units in mind - a Templar and Hospitaller version.
**Cavalry using long spears instead of lances for especially the early era and to some extent also the high era.
**A new Norse Axemen model and skin, based more on it's ancestors (the vikings) rather than a full plated latin knight.
