The new AI posted by crossbowman is not a virus, indeed .It is only a EXE file which can automatically unzip the formation-AI files and a rome-tw.exe programme reworked so as to be suitable to the formation-AI files . The new AI file has been checked by AVG antivirus and the Kaspersky antivirus and proved that it is not a virus at all . you are too cursory and jumpy . you have made a serious mistake on Crossboman .

Well even if its not a virus, changing the EXE is illegal and thus it doesn't matter anyway.

You don't say....I'm curious Mr. crossbowman...errr.. I mean, iamsniper. Why is it exactly that the executable needed to be "reworked" so as to be suitable for the formation files?.....:hmmm:

Changing the EXE is illegal. I don't know why, and I didn't make the rules, I just enforce them. Editing the txt files isn't illegal as long as you don't make money, but editing the engine itself, even for personal use, is still illegal.

Modifying the .exe file is illegal, he's lucky that hasn't been reported to CA/SEGA.

It's illegal because it is modification of the game engine for redistribution without the makers permission, is a breach of copyright law, EULA, and it entails the illegal reverse engineering of a .exe to change game code.

I think game engines tend to be licensed out rather than sold, or at least have very strict terms of use, otherwise everyone would just rip them off and make their own versions, which is why most PC games have hard coded CD's, if someone alters the exe and Ca let them get away with it or seem not to care, Ca could be open to a lawsuit. Anyway it's by the by, the TOS states ''no cracks'', altering the exe is a crack.

    Closed.

Now what crossbowman posted was not just illegal in TWC terms but illegal in very real terms, his ban from TWC is just the first line of defence, if he re-posts the file we will have no hesitation in passing his details on to Ca's legal dept and let them deal with him.
