Just a mixtape, so the beats are sampled, but it is near and dear to my heart, having sat in on some of the recording sessions; as well as it being my friends talking about the stuff we do every day in the 'dale. Check it out, to download click the links in the tracklist section.
If that fails ya, Mos Def, Twalib Kweli, Common, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, KRS-One, the Beastie Boys, Saul Williams, Rage Against The Machine, and Tech N9ne are good places to start.

DMX - Get it on the Floor
He talks about slapping *****es with his dick in that song, hilarious.
Swear filters are for sites run by immature children.
Excuse me if these aren't rap songs.....
black star

Otto von Bismarck
damn man it doesnt get much more oldskool than Ice cube (even if today's a good day is a bit laid back)
and people should stop recommending DMX tbfh, the guy sucks in 70% of his songs. Its dark and hell is hot is his best album and its too hardcore for centurion's apparent taste (going by his like for today's a good day)
all the new stuff (including DMX) doesnt touch what the old stuff is.

DMX - X Gon Give it to Ya
A touching song about life on the street.
A religion of peace...
If you like the kinds of themes in Today Was A Good Day, you may want to try out more 'serious' artists like KRS-One or Talib Kwali, or even get into political hip-hop such as Dead Prez or Public Enemy.
Your average pop-hop meathead won't provide much outside the money and ******es paradigm.
Outkast are pretty good.
Try
So Fresh So Clean
Sorry Mrs Jackson
Roses
I Like The Way You Move
50 Cents always been a winner in my books
Even if he is a bit of a .
Try
Disco Inferno
Get In My Car
21 Questions
If I Cant
Wanksta
Those are pretty decent imo.
Slick Rick and Kurtis Blow are pretty good, though the old ones are the bests.

Tribe Called Quest - Excursions. Especially if you have a nice smooth treacle sounding subwoofer..
In fact, the whole Low End Theory album.
Mac Dre
Andre Nickatina
