    Default swap skins

i like to swap some roman skins from CB with some from SPQR, that is i'm playing SPQR and i would like to use CB skins.

    skins i want to change:
    - imperial (first) cohort (SPQR) with legio II traiana fortis (CB)
    - republican (first) cohort (SPQR) with coorte della legione originaria (CB)
    - urban cohort (SPQR) with guardie dell'urbie (CB)

i just want to change the skins, NOT their stats or unit cards so the only difference can be seen on the battlemap.
i don't want their stats to be the ones from CB (everything in SPQR is perfectly balanced) just their looks on the battlefield.

i don't know much about all of this, so if someone could help me i would be very thankfull!

(if something isn't clear, let me know and i'll try to rephrase)

It's fairly simple, copy the cas files(models) of the units you want into the models_unit folder (data/models_unit) that came with SPQR, then the tga's (texture) files of the corresponding units into the texture folder, then edit the unit entries in the descr_model_battle file so they match your new units (cas and tga's).

In your rome files you'll find one called the ''descr_model_battle'' this file is the one that tells the game which model and texture a unit uses. Open that file up and find the unit you want to change, (use ctrl f, and type in the units name)..

When you find the correct unit you'll see three sets of entries, one for the textures which end with tga, one for the models which end with .cas, and one for the sprites (don't worry about the sprites), change the entries of the SPQR units for the ones you want from CB.

If that's to simplified I suggest looking here.

    Good luck.

...you might also consider simply renaming the new .cas and .tga's to whatever the ones you want to replace are called (just make sure to back 'em up to another folder if you want them back the way they were). That way there'll be no coding to do, and thus no coding errors to be made.
