can someone explain to me how i can install several versions of rtw? so i can play different mods at the same time without removing or re-installing those mods.
i haven't got a clue and i know it's probably something really easy to do

Copy the whole RTW folder and then paste it somewhere else then install the mod into that.

Hmm, you can have that with some less HDD-space (and a bit more knowledge of RTW +BI moddings)
-make a new directory in RTW directory (like seen with BI-folder), rename it to what you like ('mymod', or whatever)
-copy the data folder of RTW (and BI too if needed) into your created folder 'mymod', then install the mod there.
-to start it copy the shortcut of RTW and edit over 'properties':
C:\RomeTotalWar_or_where_ever_you_have_installed_it\RomeTW-BI.exe -mod:mymod -enable_editor -show_err
(assume you have BI)
-you can delete lots of subdirectoris now, cause if things not found in your 'mymod', rtw orginal folders will used...

no, I did not find anything of CA's work easy to mod, its tricky, its buggy, its anoying.i haven't got a clue and i know it's probably something really easy to do

(by they way, most good mods don't overwrite the rtw orginal now, if they come with an own folder. By using the -mod:mymod technice, generally if a mod dont ask to overwrite orginal files, you bet it can run with others.)

But some mods like RS cant just be installed in the Data folder, and the Data folder is what takes up most of the space, everything else is just like a hundred megs.

thanks for the suggestions, i reinstalled a vanilla version patched to v1.5 en copied that several times. it works so far
