I just keep CTD' ing :(

Hi folks,

Could anyone with a little bit of knowledge pls have a look at my system.log.txt.. I just keep getting these ctd's. I've done a fresh install of mtw2 + kingdoms + ss5.0 + 5.1b + the hotfix.

Still the ctd's remain. I've tried early campaigns, late campaigns, norway, ireland. Still no go

Help!

Try updating your vid card drivers and sound drivers. I had the same problem and this did the trick.

Im using newest Omega drivers for my ATI X1950 AGP and the "newest" drivers for my Soundblaster Live 5.1 digital already

Try removing movie events and subtitles from the config file, that seems to fixed it for me.

When this ctd happend? in the load of the game ? in the load of the campaign?

No just during the game. Not during a battle but while making moves on the campaign map

The same turn ? The same position on the map?
Try to delete the bin files from the text folder and rwm file from the world/base folder.
Sometimes game crashes when try to create something. Like a new child without name or when want to give a nickname. A corapted save cause ctd too.

No sometimes it happens after three turns sometimes after like 15 turns. Also not the same location on the map, It happened to me with Norway, Teutonics, Kingdom of Jerusalem and with Ireland.
These were all not saved campaigns but brand new ones.

I get CTD's on the campaign map myself, found numerous little tweaks that have gone into the Hotfix, but now trying to see if there are any other similarities. What is your processor and video card, if you know?

try re downloading all of the files! that worked for me and I reinstalled 4 times! 4 times the same bad files..

Thanks, but I've lost track of how many times I have tried reinstalling. Ugh.

re-installing yes. but did you acftually re download the file or did you use the same file everytime?

I've downloaded the files twice. I don't think there is that much of a chance for that much bit degradation to occur. Even if it did, I think it would be unlikely to get in 45 or so turns if the actual downloaded files were corrupted...

Dang, I was so hoping...

Nope, went back 3 turns and the game is still corrupted. This after rebooting with a full scandisk, then doing a defrag and temporary file wipe.

Went back 6 turns after doing the same as above and testing with latest Nvidia beta drivers. Still crashes...
