Seems like it should pretty much be up to the existing members.
Is there anything in the EU existing rules/constitution that says any nation with land in Europe as to be let it?

But if the cause be not good, the king himself hath a heavy reckoning to make, when all those legs and arms and heads, chopped off in battle, shall join together at the latter day and cry all 'We died at such a place; some swearing, some crying for surgeon, some upon their wives left poor behind them, some upon the debts they owe, some upon their children rawly left.
Hyperides of Athens: We know, replied he, that Antipater is good, but we (the Demos of Athens) have no need of a master at present, even a good one.
since greece can be in nato, more than likely someone will figure out a way to get them in if they want it.
but greece is completely different they are a key part of european civilisation.
them is in reference to turkey fyi...
i know, but seeing as greece is already in the EU...........
my point is that if someone or some group want turkey in for whatever reason then they will probably be a part of the EU. until then i doubt it.
in reference to if they should be allowed, really i dont care, but it could possibly make some bad blood worse.
Turkey is not part of Europe as Australia is not part of Asia.

Sure, why not.
If Bosnia, Croatia & co can join, why not Turkey?
Turkia is also member of the NATO
But if they should become a Member of the EU
if they meet all Requirements and the EU changes its Budget spending from supporting agricaltural production to supporting, education, sience, industry and services.
then Yes why not.
If in 20 years the EU still spends 60 % of its money to support farmers
then No
If Turkey can meet more or the less the same requirements as Poland, Latvia, Hungary, Romania, etc. did, why not let them join?
again talking about turkey
but the point is why should they be allowed to join despit not being part of europe and it would allow them and terrorists into britain.

I am unaware of any terrorist attacks committed by Turks in Britain.
No because Turkey is in Asia minor not Europe plus I don't like the extension of the E.U to more states.
EU should be stoped at 10/15 states and not 27 states like now.

Istanbul, Turkish largest city, is geographically in Europe. Turkey has been an important part of European politics for the last 800 years or so. They are effectively European as much as they are Asian/Middle-Eastern.
