Default What are your favourite gunpowder units?

Just list your fave gunpowder units!

    1. What is your favourite gun infantry/cavalry unit and why?
    2. What is your favourite gunpowder artillery weapon and why?

To start it off here are my answers-

    1. Cossack Musketeers because of their awesome range and damage. I prefer them to the normal musketeers.
    2. The Italian monster ribaults because of their extreme barrage fire that can take out many units in a short time.

Please post you favourite gunpowder units in this thread.

I love Janissary musketeers, infact they are the best Gunners ingame and they can handle a Melee too.
as soon as they were available they replaced the Janissary Archers in my Armies.
I love the Range, the boom and the Smoke.

The answer to this question is, unequivocally, Camel Gunners.

    The discussion is now over.

I forgot about them. Probably because I never played the Moors, except in custom battle.

Are the Camel Gunners better than the Holy Roman Empire mounted gunners?

Yes. I once did a custom battle between 20 camel gunners against 10 panzer phants and 10 musket phants. The camels won. They beat everything: Reiters, Lancers you name it.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

    That's pretty awesome.

I'd say Jannissary musketeers. They have excellent range, cause a considerable amount of damage and can be used in the melee if necessary.

As far as the artillery is concerned, everything that can knock down city walls will do . I seldom use it on the open field as I like to keep my armies as mobile as possible. But if I have to choose, I'd choose Elephant artillery . For their mobility, ofc.

The problem with the Reiters is that they have very short range, thus making them vulnerable to quick cavalry strikes or encirclement.

Camel Gunners have range rivaling longbowmen. They have the scare horses trait, are fast moving, have incredible stamina, and incredible morale.

If they had decent armor/shield, or a glorious reskin, they would arguably be the most powerful unit in this game.

They are an ultimate extension of the horse archer.

My favourite mounted gunners are camel gunners (for all Sher Khan's reasons!).

My favourite foot gunners are Cossack Musketeers for their awesome range and power.

My favourite gunpowder artillery unit would be the Mongolian Rocket Launcher- pretty poor against walls but devastating at long range in a field battle. I hired lots as mercenaries in my campaign against the Mongols, they were the best way to kill off the Mongol generals before the fight had even started.

    fav gunner unit

Elephants - they have gunners on their backs which say to the enemy
"SIT THE HELL DOWN YOUNG MAN"

    fav arty unit
elephant artillery - they can fire over the top of your troops which is pwn simply because there is a lesser chance of stray shot hitting your other units.

also the smoke from a whole stack of arty elephants firing is like clouds when you look from ground level.
its awesome and so are they and if you disagree then you are in fact not awesome at all

Serpentines and mortars! Long range and accurate, and shoot over walls, respectively.

Camel gunners are so effective not because of their muskets but because the camels stink and lowers the moral of their puking opponents.

Portuguese Arquebusiers - They're a decent ranged unit but can handle themselves in melee, which makes them pretty valuable to me.
