i'll start with mine, well "the rise of..."

Here's mine.. Pretty interesting campaign; there are only 4 'Super'factions left (5 including me). I'm having war with 3, and none of them are at war with eachother.

After almost 100 years of constant fighting in Greece, and building/maintaining defenses in Italy, my legions are now invading into every direction; Gaul, Afrika (Carthage came towards italy, so I counterattacked their capital), the lands of Tracia, into Turkey and clearing out Greece of all those countless Seleucid Empire stacks.

Rome has it's 24000 residents needed to get marian reforms. I can get it in 10 turns whenever I want, but most of my legions have all silver/golden experience units, and I like the principes/hastati/triarii troops.
I think I'll start building the Imp. palace once I've secuired a strong foothold in Turkey and Gaul.

The only problem I'm facing at the moment are Carthage and the Empire, sending in countless stacks every turn making it nearly impossible to have my garrissons on full strenght every turn.
And most frontline-cities are low on populations, so I'm also having trouble retraining because of that.

I'm planning to invade Spain by the way, for it's mines.

Hi, After only just downloading RTRPE just started campaign as Julii i think it is excellent sorry no picture at the moment as i am at work winding down for christmas so to speak The story so far:
Well first of all went south to conquer southern italia from those greek cities pretty easy really took Tarantum by force and then talked the greeks in Croton into becoming a protecterate lovely job all going well for a few turns then the Gauls came and attacked me and after many years of waging war have only just now 230ish B.C started pushing them back into gaul proper i.e france Whilst fighting Gaul and stuggling a bit to keep up reinforcements the Carthiginians invade southern italy took three provinces before i could start pushing them back out of my boot (italia) have eventually pushed them all out of Scicily and i am building up my fleets now so i can go and get Malta,Sardinia,Corsica and maybe Palma as well but my navy seems to be so ****** i'm going to need a hell of a lot of ships to beat off my enemies which stands at the moment Gaul,Carthage,Macedon Macedon incidently have only just started to threaten Patavium due to the province next door to it is still currently controlled by Gaul and they are either reluctant or are not allowed through anyway ive stayed away just to keep it as a buffer although they have now circumvented this obstacle and are now coming down the mountain passes, i have beaten a few attacks off mainly from 1/2 stack armies now they seem to be full stacks but i am confidant at deafeting these Phalanx armies with my superior legions .My allies are helping, the Germans are attacking macedon and the iberians are keeping the gauls busy while i am mopping up carthaginians BTW Elephants get dikked every time by my Italian skirmishers so they are no problem to my armies at this time.
My plan is to hold the macadonians where they are a purely defensive war help the iberians to whittle down Gaul, build a mighty fleet and crush Carthage taking some African staes and see what happens.
I will update later on to tell how ive done and stick some piccies in

the same i can't say, very bloody campaign, i've create a monster (allowed macedons to grow alot) now they're allied with gauls and attacking from north, to make it worse, after my war with cartaghe have reduced alot my man power, they've few stacks near and all i've is mercenaries ... to hold the northen borders until the roman legions arrive wich ill not happen on next turns (army + fleet)

Well for me not to bad, i have taken the islands of the western med and have taken my first city in africa, the gauls are almost beaten due to my alliance with the iberians and my ace assassin who has killed about 8 gaulish family members, the macedonians have asked for a cease fire which i accepted just to give my self some time to build up forces for the ultimate destruction of me 3 nearest foes, i have to mention i am on H/H which is quite taxing but i may have to go up a level not that its been a cake walk but i am feeling i am doing a bit to well, although it looks to me the Seleucids have taken over most of the eastern campaign map so i think i will have my work cut out to defeat them.
Also i tried to get a screen shot last night and it didnt work could someone explain the procedure for this or is? but i will have a look around the forums for an explanation now, and give it a go tonight.
Otherwise a very enjoyable campaign although i am struggling for cash right now and i dont know the reason i am taking provinces and i have to exterminate cities to get any real money, my empire is expanding westwards only at the moment as i as yet do not have the resources to go east as well.
After seeing your quote about creating a monster i belive the seleucids will be my monster and i'm not sure what i can do about it at this point in time.

A little update:

I've invaded spain for it's mines and trade, and I've been pushing into Gaul and modern day Turkey.

The Seleucids had too many stacks for a full frontal assault, so what I did was sending a legion through upper Afrika (capturing all in it's path) and started attacking the Seleucids from their backs. It worked quite well, because I've captured everything up to Alexandria.
They now have to fight me on 2 fronts now (and a third one with another faction), so my armies/garrisons in Turkey finaly get some rest.

Im also pushing back the Tracians now, seems like my campaign is going to end nice and easy.

Now having Spain and all of Greece, my cities are producing huge amounts of money, Carthage for example has 7000-10.000 income.

Oh, and fighting off all those Seleucid/Carthaginian stacks made my legions very veteran (most of them are all silver/gold), and my generals are having huge amounts of command stars. (many have 5-10 stars)
And I've got a fleet of all 2-golden ships, ruling the Meditarenian (or something lik that )

Ok then haven't had too much time to play my campaign but things have moved on, Originally my main threat on my eastern front was the Macedonians but they have been extinguished by the Greek cities and now they are my main protaginist in the east. The Gauls in the west on the otherhand are virtually out of the game with one province on the atlantic coast left but they still will not bow to the power of Rome and her Iberian ally obviously i will have to attack the spanish once the Gauls have been vanquished and i am quietly building my Army in Massila for this campaign, the Germans have been quiet. Meanwhile in the south and in Africa i have struggled enourmously with the Carthiginians, the Islands are mine but Africa is a different story, Originally taken towns and cities at will now i am struggling to hold them all and have lost Carthage and 2 other cities to them currently building a big army in Italy to ship over there and sort them out.
I still cant pin up a picture of my campaign map i have tried instuction found on site but its just not doing it maybe im too thick for it but i will try and trey again until i do it.

Play Sarmatians in the Extended Realism Mod (3.2), M/M difficulty.

The mod has been heavily modified by myself: 0-turn recuritment system, mercenary units have 2x upkeep, mining and silk brings much larger income, and most cavalaries have their armour points moved to defense skill (bcoz their horses are un-armoured), and all units have their moral reduced by 1/3.



The campaign starts in 1 AD, with marina reforms already done. Going offensive is hard: with only one mine city (~$8000), I couldn't afford any units other than HA. And the front line soon became over-stretched, as all of the supplies must come from my capital (3rd-level barracks take 18 turns..)

In 25 AD the situation has changed a lot. I managed to push back several full-stack armies of the Macedonians (with good terrain and luck ), and captured 4 mining cities, I could take a rest and prepare for the eastern frontline, against hostile armenians.

No pictures, but the Ptolemies just did the darndest thing in my Roman MNM game, playing with BI.exe. They lost Maronia early on to the Macs, Asia Minor to the Selkies, and were slowly being driven back in the Levant. Having taken over Greece and Macedonia as Rome, I left them the islands in the hope that they'll be able to keep enough revenue to mount a counterattack in the near east once I start nibbling away at Selkie possessions in Asia Minor. Instead, before I even set out for Asia, the Ptolemies invaded and took back Maronia by sea, then strongly reinforced this bridgehead, shipping in troops from Mytilene, Rhodes and Crete (!?). They then became the dominant force in Thrace, taking Tylis, Debeltos, Byzantium and Bylazora (wiping out Macedon and starting war with Thrace in the process). Has anyone seen this kind of thing before, amphibious invasions followed by systematic reinforcement of the new holdings?

After kicking the Greeks out of Greece, they've set up shop in Barbarian lands. My only allies are Pontus and Parthia, who are both pretty much out of the game. Still, I've got a very healthy income, so it's all good.

Well a few months later time for an update, havent played for a while but have been into it the last few days....,when i last posted iwas fighting the Gauls and Greeks and Carthage,with the macedonions destroyed and now the Gauls have met a similar fate, but as expected the iberians have attacked me in Arveni southern gaul and taken Gergovia and trying to expand fortunatly i have halted thier advance and now pushing them back at the expense of Gwenea where i stole the whole occupation force to help against the spaniards, the germans are my ally but they are not doing that much to my knowledge except losing out to the Greeks which at the moment are my main pain in the patavium only just taken the city back after about ten years of fighting them off hopefully i can hold now with my faction leader and veteren army while i cunningly make an army to attack Apollonia across the adriatic in a hope of easing the pressure in the north,
Meanwhile i have been booted out of africa back to sicily by carthage my armies whittled down and destroyed over many years without resupply which i have to take resonsibility for due to the greek stacks threatening Italy itself, its just a matter of priorities anyway i will have to build some fleets as well to blockade carthages ports but all thes actions will be a tremendous drain of resources for us Romans that is why my intended attack on greece mainland must work!
In retrospect i feel i should have just held northern italy and attacked the Greeks more forcefully from the start,but you live and learn and i have to play the cards i have dealt to myself and i am still enjoying the struggle,

But with ALX engine you get more: Within the first 30 turns, macedon destroyed greek_cities, illyria, thrace, and beat all sarmatian army and gauls and germans, and began war with pontus. At the same time I only managed to get the whole iberian peninsula and was still fighting against carthage and rebels in north africa (iberian campaign)

The only modifications I did are double income for mines and 0-turn recruitment for non-elite units. It was done before in BI and in original RTW, no faction can gain much more benefit than others.

This is from my Thracian campaign. I was going to push on for in game victory, but the grain imports are killing me. With 9% growth from grain imports in several settlements, it's becoming impossible to avoid constant riots and plagues.

On the bright side, this was a very fun campaign. Bastarnae and Falxmen are amazing when they crash into the flank or rear of enemies. The conquest of Sparta allowed my Bastarnae to pin two units of Spartans to my spear line and break them.

Greek cities campaign, M/M, my modded RTR+alex

In the beginning I looted every buildings and disbanded every armies in the cities on greece, and then used those money to mass-produce 2 full stack armies (hoplites and hoplite levies), raided the romans and finally destroyed it in the 4th year. Everything on greece, including my first faction leader, is dead, and I went into huge dept in the following 5 years.

So I got a fresh new beginning on italy peninsula - with no enemy but the rebels. It remains peaceful until the stupid gauls hit my newly-captured city, though they immediately retreated and begged for a ceasefire. Anyway the war cannot stop until all of them are sent to hell. However, my focus is not them, of course, but the macedonians - and I still retain 3 cities on the back of their undefended heartland

I sneaked into macedonian's back, took back my initial cities, and found they still kept my royal barrack in sparta (they may have known the day will come ). They're having at least 10 full stacks of pikes and hypasists (that's close to 20,000 people!), all gathered in northern greece - now it's really a "total war"

Press the "Print Screen" while in game and then you can copy paste it in Paint or whatever. Plus, the screens captured via this method get created in a folder named tgas (Rome - Total War/tgas). Just that they`re in .tga format.

Ok, here's the current situation on my new Roman campaign:



I'm at war with both Carthage and the Gauls (2 legions in Italy, 1 in Africa). My only allies are the Celtiberians.

My initial plan was to expand North before even thinking about Africa, but the problem was that those cursed Carthaginians just wouldn't stop attacking Syracuse (using BI so plenty of naval invasions), no matter how many times I defeated them.

So, as you can see above, I quickly got tired of their insolence and took the fight to them.
