Help on Bribing
I've used serveral diplomats to try and bribe several rebel armies, but it hasn't worked once in my current campaign; I've just got into the game again after a long time away from it.
Is there any trick to bribing rebel armies? Is it easier to bribe smaller armies? Do you have to have a ton load of cash in the bank for it to work?

Well everything depends on generals loyalty, if it is high then you wont be able to do it - or the price will be so high that it wont be worth it.
Also send a good diplomat to make sure your offer has more chances of being accepted!

There isn't any real trick to bribing rebels. Rebels don't like you and therefore won't accept most bribes. Like vonKrysiak says, a good diplomat helps a lot.

Re: Help on Bribing
Here are the variables:
1 - Loyalty of the general being bribed (assuming there's a general). The lower, the better. Better still if the enemy general has some traits that make him easier to bribe.
2 - Size of the enemy army. The smaller, the better.
3 - How good your diplomat is. The higher skill, the better.
4 - How fat your wallet is. The fatter, the better.
In the end, it's going to cost you a lot more to bribe than to defeat an enemy army in combat, so you should only really be doing it in very extreme circumstances.

Re: Help on Bribing
I usually only bribe when I can't be bothered with fighting a battle against some rebel army that's not within marching distance of an army of my own.

Don't even consider doing it unless you just want to use up a seed number so something else really bad won't happen when you reload to cheat.
