    chariots ~ how to change

    i have done a new chariot skin for the celts but i don’t know what text file it links to as it is not in the descr_model_battle file. anyone know what file i need to edit to make the skin show in the game? [the skin is already in the correct textures folder]

    it's detailed in descr_mount.txt but the file is basically something like ##celtic_chariot_low.tga or something like that.

    The texture itself is referred to by association with the model. In descr_mount you can only set the model. The texture`s name and path I think is saved by the model. And in RTW vanilla those textures are in the pak files. You`ll either need to unpack those and change the texture inside(keeping its name and repacking after that) or find someone to save the model to refer to the new skin name. Otherwise the one from the pak file will be loaded by default.

    If you only want to replace the vanilla texture without wanting to keep that too, it can be rather easy. You need to make a new pak file named mod_0.pak or mod_1.pak iirc and only include the new skin. The game will check this pack first and will load your texture(if it is named the same with the vanilla one).
    It should be in DATA\MODELS_UNIT\TEXTURES
    The fileparser for Vercingetorix`s xpak is very user friendly.
