When did you first get a Computer and first get the Internet?

The thread title is self explanitory I think. I first got a Computer back in 1996, it was a Windows 95, very good for it's time.

A few years later, I my parents bought a Windows 98, although I used it quite frequently. Again, this was good for it's time period, and it was by this year, I think 1998, that we got America Online (AOL) Internet connection. I don't know if any of you still have that, it was pretty slow, but pretty much the only internet availible.

First computer was some old IBM 486, I think we had it since around I was born, first internet was AOL 2.0 or something like that, in 95.

My oldest computer memories are of playing flight simulator 4.0 on an orange screen a long time ago. I think that was on windows 3.0 or 3.1.

My own first computer was a cheap thing with Windows 98. I got it from my Great Uncle for free and was very greatful and although there was no internet connection, (i dont think the wireless we have today was around) I still had much fun playing Sim City 3000 on it daily

Trash-80! I always wanted one when I was younger I mean it could use a harddrive and idea of a 8 meg harddrive then was insane.

To think we once had to store things on that. A whopping 1.2mb storage (I think) for the double sided/density 8 inch floppy. The machines were just great for storage of infomation at the time, probably why so many dialup BBS used them to run on.

When I first bought my first computer,internet wasn't around.. at least commercially.. That was a commodore 64,using tapes for games and not even 3.5 or 5.25 floppies... The year was 1986-87 I suppose..



P.S:
I didn't buy it myself,my dad bought it for me without knowing that he was creating a computer freak.. I was an innocent kid back then..

first was old ZX Spectrum 128K , but internet only in end's of 98 pentium II 550Mhz with ultra-faster 48kb/s dial-up *sarcasm*

First was I think around 1992-1994. We got internet in 1996 or so. 1998 was when we got a Pentium 3 and I experienced real pc gaming for the first time.

OOOH. Can't quite remember the year, but it was pretty sure a pre-CD ROM computer.
I remember playing Commander Keen on it AAAAALL the day!

(If old consoles count aswell, it's an Atari 2600 my parents bought when.... I was much younger. )

My first internet was jolly old 56k modem in 1998 or so.

Think around -97 or -96 we got our first PC, about Internet I'm unsure of, we had it in periods with the 56k back then. Very dull memory.
After that we had a Compaq and later installed 2000 ME on it.

Not until we got hold of broadband we kept Internet.

I was 4 using one of the embassy's computers to do stuff like those exercises for counting with Leap Frog and stuff, so I don't know when I first started, but that became my first computer, though my parents used it alot more then I did, then when I was 10 I got a Multisync LCD1555V monitor with a Pentium 4 processor with Internet Explorer already installed.

My dad had a computer before I was born, so I've had access to them since 1988. We also had a kind of internet since I can remember, DLing demos of games such as duke nukem and tetris.

My first video game was a combo Fallout-Diablo-Starcraft set given to my father in '98 or somesuch.

I remember my first computer back in 1998 it came with Duke Nukem 3D and some quake demo, though our internet provider where AOL dial-up and yes it was slow and expense for its time.

My father had been using computers since the seventies, I think. By the time I was born we definitely had some computer or other at home. I remember using DOS, and at some point triple-booting DOS, Windows 3.x, and OS/2. We got the Internet early, like 1993 or 1994, of course from AOL.
