    Icon4 Warning!

Hey guys, just to recommend you to be very careful if you decide to remove any mods you have installed in the same RTW folder that contains IBFD. I had installed BI (obviously), Europa Barbarorum and IBFD in my RTW folder. I never played EB too much so I decided to uninstall it a few days ago. Today I wanted to continue with my WRE campaign but the game never started, I couldn’t even get the loading screen, the game never got launched. I tried vanilla BI and vanilla RTW but CTD and back to the desktop from the loading screen. Apparently when I uninstalled EB some RTW files were deleted too in the process. Now I lost my IBFD campaign . I decided to let you know this so you can prevent this from happening to you too. Now with your excuse I will go and hang myself to finish with this very painful suffering.

See you on the flip side.
"So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show."

Thank you, but nobody feels it as much as I do you can imagine. I'm still very depressed. I can't believe that 3 months invested in my campaign went directly to the toilet. I had managed to stabilize my empire and was starting to reconquer the lost territories to the barbarians, and now it's gone!! Damn! I was about to hang myself when I thought that if I did I wouldn't see IBFD2. That gave me a new reason to go on.

Have you tried copying your WRE save file, then reinstalling everything the way you had it again? Or just doing a clean install with IDFB and putting your save file back in the folder? That might work if you havnt deleted your folder yet.

Yes, I agree with Lord Agelmar. You should still have your save folder containing your saved campaigns. Just reinstall everything then copy and paste the old save folder into the new one.

    Cheers

Good idea! Thank you for the tip guys. I'll keep you updated.

Unfortunately, I have checked those files and the save folders are completely empty. I guess they were deleted, too. (Sigh...) Thank you anyway for your tip guys. I appreciate it.

You could go into Desktop recovery and go back a couple days, it will bring back everything that was on your computer prior that was deleted. You will lose anything that was new after the deletion. Depends on how bad you want your 3 months back. I feel for you, happened to me as well...a while back.

Thanks for the tip DHS, but I can't do that. You'll see, I've made certain changes to my computer lately and I can't jeopardize them. They are work-related. Thanks again, anyway.

Hi to everyone, I have a technical question for you guys. I know I should post it in the RTW technical issues forum but since my question is directly related to IBFD i decided to post it here. As you already know I lost my campaign and had to get rid of the folder where the RTW installation was together with the IBFD folder since not even the vanilla games were working. I have a clean installation of RTW patched to 1.5 and I'd like to install BI on it. My question is, Will that work? I mean BI patches RTW with v1.3 but since my installation is already patched to v1.5, will that generate any kind of complications? Will the v1.5 be a problem for a proper installation of BI and consequently a problem for a new installation of IBFD? I'll be waiting for your replies, Thank you.

Tricky question, isn't it? But now I've got the answer. If you have RTW pached to 1.5 (not the golden edition, BTW)and then install BI, RTW goes back to v1.3. How? Don't ask me as I don't know. It simply does. Then, of course you have to re-patch it with v1.5. I thought you could use this information some day.

Once you have upgraded your game with patches I don't think that it goes back to the original version if you upgrade BI to 1.6. I do however think you need to make sure that your using the right play disk or Rome will not work. Rome and BI have 2 seperate game disks. Don't they?

Hey DHS, I know it sounds ilogical but that's waht happened to me. I had RTW patched to 1.5, then installed BI. When I checked the BI version, it said 1.4. So, to make sure that RTW was working, I inserted that CD and oh! surprise! The version was 1.3 and was working good, fortunately. It's crazy, I'm aware but that's what happened.

    hi,

Have you tried patching 1.4 then 1.5 for RTW,or are you going straight to 1.5?....What you might have to do is make a seperarte copy of Rome Folder, then install BI on your second copy leaving your original copy alone. If you do this make sure that you do not copy 1.5 RTW patch, but the original 1.3. Hope this makes sense. Two seperate RTW folders, the copy BI.
