First I want to put things in perspective:
I played total war since shogun. I played the medieval 2 campaigne on vhard/hard 2 times. I finished every campaigne of kingdoms in ca. 45-70 turns on vhard/hard. I finished the mod "pro deo et rege" on vhard/hard with scots. So I am really not a noob in this game... but this is absurd.
I played with mongols on very hard/hard till 1204 and it is too god damm hard.
I have the feeling that nearly every improvment is aimed at costing you lots of money, which is nice, but since the campaigne ai has either a limitless supply of money or is not under those costs they kick your ass.
I have only one war at the moment and Kiev sends me a full army every 2-3 turns. Since I destroyed about 2 or 3 of his armys I have not much troops left... They however seem to have a limitless supplies of armys. I can not get new troops since next to every turn I have a negativ economic event.
Also since my towns are so small, I can only hire militia and mercenerays. The campaigne AI hires dvor archers, spearmen and woodsman(woodsman have armour piercing, 18 attack 11 def, effective against cavalry good moral good stamina etc etc)
I found also kind of frustrating that you do not know how much exactly costs any of the changes... (I have two spys in forgein lands what do they cost? What costs an army with full supplies in your own land, or a foreigne)
I like the art work of this mod a lot and I loved the idea that everything costs money... but I think it kind of hard that all other factions do not have any problems through this at all.
Also I find it kind of frustrating that the mongols get no diplomat in the first 40 turns, since their towns/villages are to small and all other citys around them are also to small.
The random crashes are a little unnerving.
All characters die a lot even if they are only 40 years old. Regardless of being priests or generels.
The characters with which you start have no hvy cav bodyguards, instead they have light cavalery or similar units. All other characters you get through adoption have hvy cavalery units from the start. Kind of strange.
The idea with the coronation was very nice, but as my faction leader died and I got the disliked by nobles event one turn later. My new leader got the crown one turn later... That was kind of frustrating since I needed only 2 turns to get him to my capital and even that was to late???
