Questions on Installing RTR

Hey gang! I am not sure where to post this so I will post it here. I currently have the original retail version's of RTW and RTW BI installed on my computer. The original RTW is currently version 1.3 and BI is version 1.4. What are the steps to downloading and installing the LATEST RTR version. Is there also RTR BI or just RTR for RTW?

I understand that there is a risk that I will not be able to uninstall RTR once I install it. How do I allow my self to uninstall RTR if something bad happens? Keep in mind I am fairly knowledgeable of computers but NOT THAT knowledgeable.

If I have to uninstall and then reinstall RTW in order to install RTR, do I have to also do the same for BI? I am really looking forward to playing RTR as I am a Military historian and RTW was very bad in its portrayal of the Ptolemaic Egyptians especially. Thanks for any help!

That is not exactly the latest version of RTW. If you have RTW Gold you should have RTW v1.5 and BI v1.6. If what you say is true I recomend you install RTRPE and not RTR 6 Gold. You will need to install the BI v1.6 patch. This will also bring your RTW to the required v1.5.

Depends on what you mean. You can play RTR with the exe of BI and you`ll take advantage of BI`s engine. That means better AI and a few more abilities for the units iirc. Besides that though, RTR will still be for RTW`s timeframe and not a different mod.

You either install RTRPE v1.9 the mod switch version:

If you use the simple and not the mod switch version of RTRPE v1.9 you will still be able to play BI from the same game folder. If you use the simple version of RTRPE BI will no longer be playable.
Other then that I don`t think you can uninstall RTW without uninstalling BI no matter what reasons you have.
